New Fabia vRS Owner

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, picking up a new Fabia vrs Wednesday, black magic paint with tst paint protection, this car also has the cd multichanger & cruise, not that we have the use for cruise in the uk, except at 2am, but the dealer had this one coming in as a demo and i could'nt wait, so snapped it up.

Am thinking about having it re-maped, have been doing a bit of reading and can't decide what to go for, module, chiping or re-maping, your thoughts please.

Stay safe and sort of sensible.

Welcome to Briskoda, Mike. I had cruise control retrofitted to my Octavia and wouldn't be without it. It can be a real licence saver if used appropriately. As for chipping, remapping etc, have a good read of the Performance forum and the individual tuners' forums to get a feel for what members think. :D

Hello Mike43, great choice and we are currently running a group buy for the one click tuning box from AMD. Have a look in the GROUP BUY section.

Quick question, will i need to put a few miles on before opting for any kind of re-map? as the car is brand new, also is it better to have the ecu mapped for my specific car, or is a generic box just as good?

Regards

Mike

Youi don't have to, but it helps

Well with the box you can change it from normal map to a sportier map. This box is a plug in unit which uploads the code to the ECU. You could put more miles on it if you want before remapping it but that is the beauty of the box it can be used at anytime.

The specific map using a box to switch is an expensive option, typically

Hi Mike, welcome to the site, glad you continued.

The best bet is to have a few miles in it. They all appear to loosen up/consume oil in the early stages. From my own point of view it's nice to get to know the car then after a few months give it the boost of the chip/map. It's nice to get it all done and dusted aswell.

Your location will possibly play a part in what options you have, i.e. North and Scotland, consider Star's options, Midlans and East, we have JBS, but of course any REVO agent is similar, further south we have Jabba and South West/Midlands AMD and there are a host of others dotted around the country.

Welcome to Briskoda, Mike.

Have bitten the bullet and after a long chat with the guys at Revo in Surrey have gone for the switchable re-map which will be done this Friday.

Had to get down on both knees to the wife (she enjoyed it though:) and she agreed to go halfs, so will update on the results.

Welcome Mike and hope you like you new car :)
