boot catch service recall

Featured Replies

car went to dealer for something minor this week and there was a service recall on the boot catch. some welding was done on the catch inside the rear bumper area. apparently there have been issues with some cars with boot not closing properly. justthoght i would let you know !

Thanks for the message got mine booked in for next week :)

The rear catch is removed from the car and a small rivet has a spot of weld to prevent it workin loose.

Does somebody know the number of this recall? Is this recall documented in any way?

I mean, I can not go in my Skoda service shop and I can not tell them: dude, please can you weld my car boot please? I am not from UK.

Hi Johnathan, how's your car going now, re seats and alarm?

My Superb II was recently serviced and the garage carried out the boot latch recall and replaced the fog lights. The fog lights had been replaced once, however, the problem peristed. Apparently, the seals have now been redesigned.

Glad to see someone else has chosen a Superb with the reliable 1.9Tdi engine.

All,

Sorry for dragging up this old post.

But for the has week it seems that the boot isnt closing fully.

The catch is catching but the boot is up a little higher than the bodt of the car.

If I press on the boot it goes does down but pops up again.

Im wondering is this service recall mentioned above to specific models or dates and still current

Mine is Feb/March 2009.

Also I have a little rattle on the dash on the passengers side and wonder where it stands with getting this investigated and sorted under warranty.

Dave
