Squelch??

Featured Replies

Hi all...

I get a squelch type sound when I switch my ignition ronud to the last position before "start" when the battery light and oil pressure illuminate.

It seems to come from under the car, drivers side, but behind me a bit...

I'm guessing its the fuel pump priming before start up but am not sure. Mrs Grrs SDI also does it but its about 95% quieter than mine, this isn't a fault is it? It doesn't seem to make a difference if my VRS has been parked up for a bit or if I just got out of it, it still does it....

Haven't had any problems other than this... Just the sound.

Any ideas folks?

My PD 100 is the same and has been for the time I've had it. Mines quite loud inside the cabin with the door closed

Will be the fuel pulling its self through

Normal, fuel pump priming. Mine only does it when the fuel gauge has dropped to just above 1/2 full.

Mine does it, and its kind of annoying.

Really, they shouldnt do it at all as its air bubbles making the noise. Must be a design **** up or something.

Never heard of one breaking tho, so dont worry.

Mine does it too, normally only after fuel is showing less than ½ full. Nothing to worry about.

its air bubbles making the noise.

Your Car F4rts then ??..........

I have it too, it's kind of a little welcoming ritual from my little furby...

All very normal, and a quirk you live with.(Fuel being primed, as said)
