bad lights

Featured Replies

how come the lights on my 57 plate fabia sport are really dull but the 1.4 fabia which i had as a courtesy car had really bright lights. my car seems to go from low beam to high beam just by adding a bit more dull light but the courtesy car, the low beam would go off and the high beam would come on. it was so much nicer and brighter. anyone know if i could get my lights changed?

Im guessing the 1.4 Fabia was a poverty spec model, the top models have different projector units. I agree though, the lights in my 3 are hopeless, bought some nightbreakers to see if they make any difference.

Did they?

Did they?

I don't suppose he'll know yet, seeing as he only posted it this morning and it's not dark yet...

They should do though!

I think you will find that the low beam does not go off, but the high beam actually comes:holmes::thumbup: on to supplement it.

I replaced the standard bulbs in mine with Phillips Xtreme and there's a noticeable improvement.

I replaced the OEM bulbs with the Nightbreakers, there is a marked improvement in brightness. The beam from the drivers side bulb is still far too low though, asked when at service if this could be adjusted, they said it was already full height. Tempted to give the retaining bolt on the top and eigth of a turn to see if that makes any difference.

If they say its at full height, then if you wind it up higher you will dazzle everyone... so please leave it alone. Eat more carrots or drive according to the conditions if you cant see where you are going:thumbup:

I would normally be of that opinion but there is defintely something wrong with the drivers side light, doesnt much light up the right side of the road at all. This is compared to the missus's dinky C1 and friends cars.

Ah, in that case there must be something up as my Fabias lights are much better than my wifes Pug 107.... there are sites on the net telling you how to check headlamp aim yourself.

I wouldnt just go messing around with them, will wait to next time im at my brothers and use the equipment at his garage

i have since put some nightbreakers in my fabia. they are alot better but i also have the problem of the drivers side not being up to scratch. seems to be aiming more to the left and not giving enough light out front as other cars seem to.

I find the lights to reasonable, but not outstanding like my Octavia...

You've obviously not driven a Mk3 Golf

Has the light accidentally been adjusted for left hand drive? The dip is just a horizontal line without any kickup on the left, and the main beam is appalling, compared to thew non adjusted right hand drive set up.
