Anyone Waiting For A Vrs

Featured Replies

Is there anyone apart from me on a waiting list for a vrs?

If so when did you place an order on the car?

When are you expecting it?

Can you sleep at night?

Mate, I ordered a black VRS on Thursday 22 May and am picking it up on Friday 30 May.

Even though it's just over a week I am still pee-ing my pants with excitement and can hardly wait .... :D

I haven't asked for any options though, maybe that's why yours is takng longer ....

Then your car is coming straight out of the importer's stock, or out of some other dealer's showroom. Apparently the importer doesn't dare to stock up yellow cars... :D

Normal build-to-order time is 8 weeks.

Hi all - first time poster, here.

I'm just gonna order a silver one today.

Dealer say they will do one with no options (except that silver is, obviously,

Hi and welcome!

If you ring WhatCar? saying that none of the dealers you've spoken to will match the quote price match, they'll give you the number of the dealer/broker they got it from.

Cheers.

Adrian.

Welcome to Briskoda! Is the silver one in the showroom stocked up with options then , as

i was the same,

Thanks chaps :)

I was wrong with the price I stated earlier -

PS nice website , i love the ASCAR series (or should i say 'Days of Thunder racing' , as it is this year!)

I guess I don't need to say I do too! What a thrill to have our league's name on the back of the #17 car! The driver of the #4 Chevy, Alejandro Lince, wants to join our league, too!

All abilities welcome so long as they're polite and willing to learn. Ad over ;)

Regards,

Mark

DirectLine; also consider Adrian Flux as Briskoda members get 10% discount.

Which dealer did you go to; Shurlock Row in Thatcham (hmmm...I can't remember if this has actually become a Kia dealer now:rolleyes: ).

Cheers.

Adrian.

Jacksons of Basingstoke. And I pick it up on FRIDAY!!!

The insurance I have with Direct Line runs for another month so I've just stuck with them until renewal time. They reckon I'll be looking at around 800 notes. Up until about 3 weeks ago I had a Seat Vario TDi. Just made my final payment when someone runs a red light and writes it off!

Thanks for the insurance suggestions,

Mark

My local dealer. Salesman wouldn't cut a deal with me so I bought elsewhere.

Service is good there though.

Cheers.

Adrian.

Cool.

I quite liked their attitude and style. The Ford and Renault dealers I went to were a bit full of wide-boy type salesmen.

Got a full tank (get

I looked at the website Mark - was confused - which bits are real and which are simulation? When you say "the #17 driver carries our league's logo" - is that a real driver or a simulated one?

There are many different worlds out there ...

We race Papyrus' NASCAR Racing 2003 Season slightly modded so that the cars will run more like ASCARs - less HP, more grip.

#17 is Tony "Shark" King - a driver in the real Days of Thunder ASCAR Championship. He carries our logo in return for some grphical work I did for him.

#4 Alex Lince is a Columbian driver in the real Days of Thunder ASCAR Championship. He likes sim-racing and wishes to joing our virtual racing series :)

With me so far? ;)

We have run 3 of 12 rounds in our Saturday night league with attendences of up to 20 so far. The server will cope with 32 players but we're looking into sponsorship deals that will allow us to run with the game's max of 43 drivers!

Mark

Also consider greenlight, also a discount depending on quotes.

I could/will be saving over 400 pounds moving from DL to Flux or Greenlight. Also there is an insurance threadlurking somewhere.

Agreed about the ST170, nice car as it is. For the cash it's a hard package to beat (vRS that is). Welcome and hope you get that ride soon ;)

Hmmm if I'd known about that 10% discount at the time it would have made Adrian Flux nearly competitive with Greenlight, but still nowhere near as pleasant to deal with.

Never tried asking for discounts - does it actually work? Seems weird (no offence) that a real life business would give you a discount for being a member of a virtual web-based club ... what proof do they ask for?

Nick,

They look at the site, target captive market etc...Flux have a minimum of 200 members, I think I tried greenlight many many moons ago and got a sky high quote for a scooby. TBH at present most of the discounts are from companies I have spoken/dealt with directly. Feel free to email me any (anybody) that you feel could benefit the members :)

Have a look in the insurance section of our web links. LondonVictoria are apparently flexible with mods, unlike Norwich Union Direct which won't insure my 4X4 if I chip it. Adrian Flux let one of my sons down badly with their RAC cover which proved to be non-existent when he needed it.

BTW, welcome to Briskoda, Mark. :mw:

Thanks for the warm welcome, chaps. Truly one of the friendlier forums I visit :)

I had a quick lurk in the insurance "how much are you paying" thread but the page I checked out people were giving prices but not usually the insurers they got them with.

Will check back.

Thanks,

Mark

Welcome to the friendliest forum on the net

(Unless you ask for advice on which is better a 4x4 or a vRS)

I am insured with What Car Insurance (08457 413554)who quoted me

Bandit

I see the good old COOP are as expensive as ever! They cost me a fortune when i insured my Capri 2.0S with them many years ago , never used them since!

PS for Mark: Age 33 , 2001 vRS standard , garaged , 8000 miles PA , no extra security,

my 2.0 capri is now insured by co op, and thats who im getting the quote off for the vrs.

Day tripper

I was under 21 , they are (or were) rubbish for younger drivers , was paying over a grand TPFT and that was 1990!

Like I said the other night, it's all so annoyingly inconsistent. My policy through Greenlight is with, guess who? That's right, Norwich Union .... specifically, Norwich Union Club Insurance. Go figure ...
