Great news

Since I ordered my Yeti in August I've been reading this forum and waited and waited for my Yeti to arrive. And today it happened, sooner than expected.

It has been snowing a lot here in Sweden so I 'm really happy to have my first four by four.

Skoda Yeti TSI 160 4x4 Experience; Yeti Business package Bolero, 12 speaker sound system, the big glass roof. Spitzberg alloys. Winter tyres from Nokian.

Cheers

Congratulations  .........( whats a TSI 160 ?) :smirk:

Just back from garage having collected my Yeti. Its a 2.0TDI 2WD in Rosso Brunello with hitch and full size spare wheel. Lots of reading of the manual ahead but already I have paired my phone with the bluetooth and its brilliant. Happy days !

Oops - just realised that I should have filled this in last week!

ps

1. It was ordered 18/8/10, built w/c 22/11/10, arrived at dealer 17/12/10 and delivered 5/1/11.

2. The delay from original early December quoted to me may mean I've not had it for the worst of this winter (fingers crossed it only snows at the ski centres now), but did have the compensation that the car was registered in 2011 and just avoided extra VAT + my part ex wasn't reduced in value.

3 A colleague who is on holiday in the Czec republic met someone who works at Skoda HQ and they said I was lucky as Czec customers who ordered last summer are typically due to get delivery in March.

4. The car came with Dunlop summer tyres (maybe I'll get away without winters until the autumn) + rear door protective film.

At last!!! Fantastic news Robin. Will do a more detailed post on the MDI please? I really, really want to get that as well for mine. The separate charging of the iPhone from the 12V socket is driving me nuts. Let alone the ability to control my music from the Bolero.

Enjoy the car!

Thanks J

Been busy adding my little touches - many of which will be familiar!

Photos tomorrow.

Had a hiccup with the MDI, dealer said they couldn't get Bolero to 'see' my iPod and questioned whether I'd got the correct parts! I knew I had - so we left it that they would make enquiries and sort it next week.

Not being someone who likes being undermined, I bought another Kufatec loom (36418) from a local Ebay seller who cut me a deal for a cash transaction.

Set about removing the Bolero, which is a doddle if you have trim removal tools - as soon as I started to withdraw the head unit I could see a broken wire! Dealers 0 Merlinman 10! They'd obviously broken the cable during fitting. ( I'd supplied the Kufatech loom in a sealed bag as I received it)

Fitted new loom and BINGO! iPod fires up, charging and everything visible and controllable from Bolero.

Enjoyed ringing them and pointing out their incompetance; will take cable into them next week and wrap it around 'technician's' neck  I'll be looking for some recompense obviously...

If you're thinking of the MDI these are the guys I got my replacement cable from. Postage is a bit steep - but I'd be happy to collect and post on by SpecialDelivery to save you a few quid? Their price for the MDI kit seems very good?

Thanks J

Brilliant. Where did you fit the MDI unit and did you use the cubby hole thingy and where did you manage to get the iPod lead to come out. (and is it compatible with iPhones?)
