Coming out of Sunderland today I was behind an s reg evo 6, he kept checking me out in his mirrors and I said to the other half he was going to boot it as soon as he got the chance.

Sure enough we got to some dual carriageway and I pull out to pass a van we were gaining on, he doesn't want to wait for me to pass so quickly indicates out and floors it.

That's when a huge amount of brown smoke comes out the back and he quickly slows and pulls over.

So what went, turbo? Whole engine? Their wasn't any debris I could see. Rachel says I should feel guilty as if it wasn't for me he wouldn't have floored it!

Probably just a boost pipe; an oil line or turbo bearings usually give super-dense white smoke.

That said, I've seen remapped Evos that output black smoke on full boost.

There is a perverse pleasure in reading about this type of thing happening. However, if it the same fate befalls one of us, we're gutted. Human nature eh?
