Is Schumacher Returning to F1 in a Mercedes/Brawn?!!!

Featured Replies

As the title says, is hi?? It would explain why he has left Ferrari F1 and we know Mercedes wants a German pair in their team. Plus of course the great Brawn/Schuey combo would still seem to have a lot to offer.

here's a link to Autocars page on it.

  • He is an old man and need mollycoddling. If Volvo did F1 cars……..

  • That’s why he won the recent Karting event that Massa finished 3rd in and made the finals of the RoC having showed Vettle who was the daddy when raced head to head with him.

  • Same equipment, same tracks and Schuey still showed he is still the best pound for pound driver from the F1 world……….again. Mansell managed to win the F1 Championship as an elder statesman, so th

I am sticking with my prediction :P

I reckon Ferrari will have a contract somewhere saying MS will not return to F1 as a driver for any other team, especially as he his still a Ferrari employee and ambasador

He has officially terminated his contract with Ferrari F1. He is an adviser to their road car division only and I think he fancies another crack at the whip. Personally I think he might have missed the boat by a couple of years, but in the right car, I bet he could give the main protagonist quite a scare.

I don't disagree, I am sure he could give anyone a fair challenge, however imo Ferrari/ and MS, for that matter still make too much cash in merchandise from their association, and whilstever he has a contract with any part of the Ferrari empire he will not be driving for another team. It is just hype to sell more over priced merchandise. Even though he has been off the circuit for a couple of years the museum and gift shop, (even Maranello itself) is still very much geared round their world champion.

I agree it’s a long shot that he would do it, but when I read it, it just sort of made sense in a way only F1 can make sense :D I hope he pulls it off though

No.

He'll be Todt's lapdog at the FIA. Prob head of Ferrari relations

He raced with some success for Mercedes in the early 90s so there is president there too.

Nah, he wont drive again.

1. He has nothing to prove

2. Will get blown into the weeds by half the grid

3. Would command an enormous salery

I find it funny he quit, while in the best car and still good enough to win... just some spanierd was beating him in slower car....

Nah, he wont drive again.

3. He would demand an enormous celery

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

I cant spell so im not sure what im lauging at!

Need to stay off the Dr pepper me thinks.

Still funny tho

Think we might have seen the final nail in the coffin for this one. Ross Brawn says it isn’t going to happen and he is a jolly sensible chap, plus he should know :(

It looks like (and been confirmed) Nico Rosberg will drive for Mercedes next year. BBC Sport - F1 - Mercedes confirm Rosberg capture The question is will TGF, Vettel or Kubica join him next year. BBC Sport - F1 - Mercedes want Michael Schumacher to drive in F1 team . Is TGF too old to drive now?

I think it looks like MS has definitely been courted to driving again and also seems to have been involved in negotiations, but his neck injury and age may play against him. Although, the heavier cars (no refuelling) and narrower front tyres might mean that the cars wont be quite a tough on his neck. I hope he does give it one more go, just because I hope he still has ‘it’. The only reason I think he might still have something to offer is he has kept himself generally very fit and as we have see in Lance Armstrong, being older doesn’t mean you can’t compete. Lance A. might never win the Tour again, but with his own team and better preparation (he had a couple of early season injuries this year) he might still make the podium. Go for it Schumy!!

Tgf?

Timo Glock's friend !

Keep up Simon (smilie grin)

Tgf?

I thought someone would ask this. TGF = That German Fellow. i.e. Schumacher (That's the clean version). He was nicknamed this on Ten-Tenths Motorsport Forum because at one time there was another MS in F1, Mika Salo. I thought I would use TGF instead of using MS.

Ah ha, thanks for clearing that up.

Michael Schumacher is a living legend! Greatest F1 driver of all time, officially. Put him in a metro and he'd still win the race!

But there's no way he's going to race again. He'd be an excellent test driver though, and instructor. He knows exactly how to set up a car to win a race. His strength was always that he understood the engineering behind the car, and used it to his advantage. Most drivers have a very basic understanding of the car, which is what stops them from being truly great drivers.

I was told last week that Heidfeld and Rosberg will be driving for Mercedes GP.

Should be funny to see how the moaning brats get on together in Ferrari! Massa and Alonso are a right pair of plonkers!

I like McLarens thoughts. English team, world championship winning engines, English drivers, world champion drivers only! Should be good.

Jenson Button has just been voted one of the top 10 underachieving drivers of all time by an American magazine!I think Hedfeld would be a mistake for Mercedes, but I guess their options are limited. It looks like they are hanging on to persuade Schumy, but he isn’t budging (sad, but probably a wise move for him).
