  • He is an old man and need mollycoddling. If Volvo did F1 cars……..

  • That’s why he won the recent Karting event that Massa finished 3rd in and made the finals of the RoC having showed Vettle who was the daddy when raced head to head with him.

  • Same equipment, same tracks and Schuey still showed he is still the best pound for pound driver from the F1 world……….again. Mansell managed to win the F1 Championship as an elder statesman, so th

Jenson Button has just been voted one of the top 10 underachieving drivers of all time by an American magazine!I think Hedfeld would be a mistake for Mercedes, but I guess their options are limited. It looks like they are hanging on to persuade Schumy, but he isn’t budging (sad, but probably a wise move for him).

I would have thought Brawn might have waited to see what happens with Renault as Kubica might become available and he's probably better than Heidfield.

I recon Renault will blatantly stay in, the French love motorsport too much to let it go. In which case they'll have Kubica and Kovallinen or Koybashi. I'm looking forward to the new teams. Will be nice to see the name Senna back on the screen, although driving for the oddly named Campos Meta. Williams' possible second driver (Barrichello being the other), has the best name ever! Hulkenburg!I wonder if USF1 will even make it. They probably heard F1 was using V8's, so thought they'd get involved. Not sure if a small-block Chevy will be competitive lads...... Alot of teams don't have drivers signed yet, so could be interesting, but probably not! We all know it's just media hype, but we love it.

What do Americans know about F1?

There is a rumour on a thread on ten-tenths (started in May) that JV, Jacques Villleneuve may return to F1 and race for USF1. There was a few months ago a chance there could be a female racing in that team. Danica Patrick, the Indy-car racer was linked to the team, but it has fallen through.

I'm suprised Harriet Harperson hasn't made it compulsory for there to be at least one female driver in every team.

Perhaps to replace the refuelling stop they could introduce a handbag reorganisation challenge or even a timed costume change. Obviously if any one of them became pregnant, the whole season would have to stop during their maternity leave to ensure they were not disadvantaged in the drivers standings during this period and then they would be given extra time to ponder if they really wanted to return or not.

I'm sure Bernie could sort it all out and make F1 fairer for the fairer sex!

Michael Schumacher is a living legend! Greatest F1 driver of all time, officially. Put him in a metro and he'd still win the race!

While he was good he was flattered by a lack of good competition. I didn't like him personally because of his lack of sportmanship and his win at any cost ruthlessness.

Now that Mclaren is an all british team, and there could be an all German team, is it not time we went back to national racing colours? Mercedes will almost certainly be silver. McLaren and Williams could be predominatley green, Ferrari is already red, Renault should be blue. Obviously with variations to suit their sponsors, and I don't know what the racing colours of Austria (Red Bull) or India or any of the other teams would be.I think the last times any teams other than Ferreri used their national colours were Ligier (Blue) and Jaguar (Green).

IIRC Austria are white with red stripes, like the Porsche Salzburg 917 Langheck in the film Le Mans.

Do you not think it is odd that Green ended up being the colour associated with British motor racing ??

Thanks to Mr Chapman.

I thought there was some connection to the fact that British motor racing mainly based its events in Ireland during the war years and the British Racing Green colour was adopted during that period. Can anyone shed some light on this ??

He is still making us guess.http://www.planet-f1.com/story/0,18954,3213_5733718,00.html -Surely it’s too late now as it looks like if Renault fold (likely) then Kubica is free to move to Mercedes, but if not…….Schumy did just win a major senior karting event, beating Massa in the processAnd the other bit of gossip is that if Bratore wins his appeal he may well buy the Renault team and rename it after himself (I seem to remember someone doing that recently…)

It's just the silly guessing season. By printing it they hope to get a scoop.

Well I am enjoying it

Whether or not Schumi's neck is up to F1, there's no denying (look at his continuing exploits in karts, Race of Champions etc) that the competitive drive is still there.

I don't doubt Schumi's competitive drive is still there (I doubt he'll ever lose it) but there's a world of difference between a 30 minute kart race and a 17 race season in an F1 car.

I reckon that if he wants another high level motorsport challenge he should look at rallying, where the risks to his reputation are a lot lower and it's not a contact sport.

Schumi claims tht his neck is 100% healed in a recent interview, where he yet again said that you could not rule out a return to F1. Wish he would make his mind up.

My guess is that he'll keep the rumours going whilst his negiotiators see if a deal can be worked out with Mercedes. There'd be no point in him not having a competitive car.

It does look like the rumours of his possible return where based on fact. The longer this drags on, the moreI doubt he will return :( but I would love to see him in a Mercedes showing the youngster the way home :)

TBH I think Vettel will be the man next year, and most likely to hand Schuey his *** on a plate.
