Had slight accident!

Featured Replies

On the way to work this morning, I was attacked by a tipper lorry. :finger: He decided that a Yellow car with xenons is obviously invisible, so pulled across me causing me to either hit him, which I didn't really want or take avoiding action. My left front wheel is now much lighter due to the fact that quite a bit of it is now sitting in the kerb!

Managed to touch it up the best I could, but certainly looks the worse for wear now. Oh well, looks like I may be safe in my job now, so maybe a set of Team Dynamic competition rims is in order soon.

Some piccies. One on the right is after touching up.

What a bummer. Strange how some people seem unable to see yellow isn't it ?

Good news on the job front though :)

Sad about your wheels mate but i'm glad that your job is sorting itself out.

Did the tipper driver stop? Dont believe for a minute he did.

Nope. Don't think he even knew I was there! If I hit him, he probably wouldn't have felt it!

Will limp on till the new year with these and see how the job goes. If all is as good as I've been told I may have to treat myself to some new wheels.

ouch :(

I had a similar thing (but worse) back in march - on slip road onto M25, two lanes, I was in outside lane about 1/4 of the way along the lorry, and lorry pulled out into my lane. I swerved right to avoid him, and clipped a kerb (WTF put a kerb on the sliproad onto a motorway :censored: ).

result? sideairbags went off (bothsides, despite no panel damage), seat belt pretensionsers fired, wheels were a bit messed up, I got a bit shaken up, and the lamer in the lorry didn't bother stopping.

oh and Seat claimed that because both front +back wheel hit kerb, the airbags were right to have gone off...and so I got left with a bill for >

I don't try and overtake anything on sliproads now' date=' and even now, 8 months and 15k miles on, I'm always expecting people to drive into me.

Looks like the bird flying overhead was a little surprised too! :P

Statistically Yellow cars are least likely to have accidents, whether thats because there arnt as many i dont know?

Sorry to hear about the accident mate, i cringe everytime i hear of someone damaging there car in someway

Bad news Graeme. Not done a bad job on the touch up.

Also good news about your job.

Glad it was the wheels and not you that got scraped along the kerb mate :)

Don't forget to get your tracking checked!

Ow ow ow! Bad luck mate. :thumbdwn: I know all about idiots in trucks .... :(

That's really bad luck. And Heebee has offered good advice below.

Don't forget to get your tracking checked!

So long as I get a chance at work tomorrow, I shall be getting the car up on the ramp and checking it all. Oh the perks of being in the trade. :D
