sounds similar to me. I do a 30 mile mixed driving round trip each day and average about 40 mpg although the cold weather seems to have made it worse. I only seem to manage about 38 now :S

:thumbup:Thanks to all for replies sounds like 40 MPG about par for the course

Drove to London last friday from Middlesbrough and returned 50mpg, but did hit some slow traffic. On returning on Sunday went faster and returned 46mpg, using Shell v power diesel in 09 2.0 PD 170 bhp vrs.Very happy with that.

09 2.0 PD 170 bhp vrs

You got a PD on an 09?

On a daily 36ml round trip into Newcastle my 56 plate VRS PD used to average 42-43mpg. My new VRS CR is doing 46-47mpg on the same run with only 1000mls on the clock. On a run up to Edinburgh last week, about 250mls return taking it easy on a new engine, it managed 56mpg .

Well pleased -so much better engine.

49.2mpg over 9200 miles in my 08 CR vRS since I bought it in September. 90 mile round trip commute each day, 80 of which on motorway with some fun drives at the weekend. Calculated using brim to brim method but the trip computer is not too far off - most accurate one I have had.

49 mpg !!! Thats a lot ,,, still v dissapointed with my 06 pd vrs 28k only getting 41mpg,,,,expected a lot more for an oil burner ,, was getting easily 56mpg in my furby vrs. Think a lot of it is down to the freezing weather though,,,or at least i hope thats the case.

Hey my VRS has 80k on the clock and averages 38 mpg...shortish journeys to work and alot of stop start

Cheers

My new vRS with the CR170 engine has proved to be more frugal than I was expecting. I'm still taking it fairly easy as it's only done 600 miles so far, but on a 70/30 motorway/town driving mix I averaged 46 overall on my first tankful and as I was taking it steady this morning because of the weather broke the magic 50mpg average for my 70 mile commute. As the engine's new and tight I was expecting worse, and I guess it can only improve as it loosens up. Trouble is, my right foot will probably loosen up as well. emoticon-0100-smile.gif
