dump valve noise

Featured Replies

hi all , not sure if this is the right place to put this so im sorry if its wrong . ive been browsing youtube and came along this video .

how did he get that high pitch dump valve noise ?

It's just a dump valve noise?

To get a sound like that you need to fit an atmospheric DV, however these dont work with the 1.8T vRS at all. Within a short time you will throw a CEL and the car will go into limp mode. The reason is that the car is expecting the dumped air to go back into the induction system, when it realises its not then it assumes you have an air leak and throws the fault code.

Thats not quite true ran a atmospheric DV with no problem with NO codes or warnings, I have had more with this one with the circulating DV. I believe the car rush of air into the induction system takes the easy way out which is effectively the wrong way.

Or use this one;

NO codes and wushhhhhhhhh sound...

Best regards

If fitted and set up correctly the SplitR is a great valve

But will not be as loud as a full dump valve

But the Forge one has been tested quite a bit and the only issues I have seen is when they have not been set up correctly or fitted with a large turbo

Why would you want a louder valve noise anyway?! There's literally no point!!

I can just hear mine fine with a K&N panel and normal Forge DV. Any louder and you'd sound like every other tool driving around town in their cruddy old Subaru's and Starlet's.

Just fit a whistle to the DV outlet if you want it to be loud!!

Spend your money on something that actually matters. Like a Christmas present for me!

lol nice try , i dont want a louder one i can hear mine fine just really like the high pitch sound .

Today my brother in law gave me forge splitter valve and I`ve installed it right away.

I read some where that when a car is remapped it needs 21 clicks, is that OK?

After few hours of driving around I scanned for errors and luckily there isn`t any..

Best regards

I am not sure that car has a atmosperic DV but just a CAI kit. My ABD CAI kit with a K&N cone fitted makes that sound with a uprated Forge recirc DV.

I fitted my splitter last night and i'm not that impressed. I still need to fiddle with it a bit more to set it up for the car.
