Heated Seats

Featured Replies

The heated seats on my new vRS don't really get warm enough, nothing like my old Volvo used to. My son said he thinks the heat level can be tweaked up with VAGCOM. Is this right?

Cheers,

Bob

On my FL they seem too hot on the 3 bar setting, normally use 2 or 1, If your wearing thick coat and jeans you might not feel it. Then again, if your wrapped up then you don't need the heated seats on! lol.

I don't think are as warm as the ones in my Golf, and I've been wearing the same clothing, could be to do with the material of the seats.

Be interesting to see if the settings can be changed with VCDS.

No issues with mine, but there again I very rarely use them, but when SWMBO's got her's on it doesn't stay on max for long before she turns it down.

I've never managed to sit comfortably on mine when they were on more than number one! "Half" is my usual setting when it is very cold.

I think they're cooler that my Golf's were, which is a shame.

I'd like them a tad warmer too, however I don't think it'll be possible to adjust the temperature of them.

how long do they take to get warm on a cold morning? when I say warm I mean so there not feeling cold, not stinking red hot

Mine are toasty in about 2mins. Not too warm, not too cool.:D Just right.

About 2-3' to get slightly warm.

What irritates me is that if I stop (turn the ignition key off) to pick up something or in traffic, then I have to turn them back on again, unlike the Golf where you could do it & the seat's heating would come back on when you restart the car.

Can that be fixed via VCDS/VAG-COM?

MIne are the same, 1 is just too hot

In mine the same, it takes about 3-4 minutes to feel it working on a cold day.

In my wife's Fabia the seats heat up in 1 minute, much faster and much hotter, at the service they told me that the seats in Fabia are smaller and that is the reason that they get hot quickly.

On other cars what is the time of them getting hotter?

I don't understand the need for heated seats, when I'm in a freezing cold car it's not my arse and legs that I'm bothered about, it's my hands! Why can't they make heated steering wheels?

amen to that! surely somebody must have tried before?

So what happens when your hands get hot?

They sweat & that makes grip a tad problematic and grip is sort of essential for your health & well being.

Wear gloves! :)

You turn the heated steering wheel off, obviously,

If they're stuck to the steering wheel because they've burnt themselves to it?

Yes, of course that will definitely happen.

You know what they'll have to put on the dash then?

CAUTION: Heated Steering Wheel

Steering Wheel Maybe Hot.

I'm sure some cars already have heated steering wheel rims? IIRC its definately an option on Mercedes Benz cars , and possibly on cars from Ford of America?

You can order it also on an A6 (and other audis).

I put mine on 3 for the first 5-10 mins and then down to one to keep the seats warm. Way too hot to leave on 3 for too long.

Defo the audi A6 has the option of a heated steering wheel.

Passenger seat on mine doesn't get as hot as the drivers seat!
