Frozen rear door hinges !

Featured Replies

As above.

On all the Fabia Vrs's that i have owned, Come winter time the rear doors will only open half wayish, Due to what i can work out, is caused by water being frozen on the inside of the door & accumalting on the inside of the door restraint arm/hinge.. (The black one that you grease up :D)

Most annoying when you want to get in the back on a V Cold day ... Once lunch time arrives & it has warmed up, all is well ;)

Anybody else suffer with this ??

Cheers

Never heard of this problem before....

Likewise, fine here. Locks freeze up though. :(

Yes i have exactly the same problem!

I struggled to open the doors on our Fabia MK2 greenline this morning. The rubbers around the top of the door had frozen to the car which meant the door handles needed a good pull to free the rubber from the car.

Our Fabia vRS does this too. Yesterday the back door was completely frozen shut!

It is winter guys, to be expected, especially so with the three four or so inches of snow covering mine yesterday!

Yup same with mine this morning.

went to pick swmbo from work earlier, she could only open the passenger door about 3 inches  had to give it a push from the inside

Used the middle key on the remote to open the back hatch yesterday morning at 5:45 (the joys of shift work....). Heard the normal click, went to lift the harch and nearly broke my arm - it was frozen solid. Mind you, that might have been the covering of snow that had turned to solid ice during the night - when I got going, the computer told me it was -4.5 outside.

Global warming, anyone?

paul.

yes both mine and my girlfroends vrs do this
