Few Questions About Front Mount

Featured Replies

Hi im just after a few answers to some questions about fitting a front mount

I read that a focus st intercooler fits if so how hard are they to fit? what else is needed? will it go behind standard bumper or do i have to do some cutting?? will it make any difference?

not sure who's this is but it's the ST FMIC so you get the idea, there is a build thread on here if ya search ;)

i have a st intercooler sitting in my room atm waiting to be fitted once i get all the bits for it, but i think ppl cant get one to fit behind the bumper unless removing fog lights

what other parts are needed?? also has anyone got the link to the picture aboves thread?? as i couldnt find it when searching, if im thinking correctly the owner has porsche twists on it???

naaa this isnt the one with porsche twists..

i did have it saved but since the new website it doesnt wana work anymore lol

Likewise I am keen on obtaining one of these as they seem a reasonable alternative other larger FMIC's.

Being a bit of a mechanical novice can anyone explain which pipe goes on which end so to speak or in which order the bits go in as I'm quite confident I can fit all the bits together?

Turbo>>>>Boost Pipe>>>> Intercooler>>>etc etc

TIA

well ive looke over doing this a while now and jonny, looking at the car head on, the left side goes up behind the light from where the stock intercooler is from, and the right hand side goes back behind the fmic and bends back onto the turbo

OK so hoping the pics are in the right order have I understood the connections properly as below?

Jonny5ive slopes of to trawl eBay for an ST FMIC and I'll get hold of Forge for some pipework methinks B)

I'm not too bothered about the fog light TBH as

a. its fecked

b. They're next to useless

c. I have no surround in place as there's a towing eye fitted

haha fair enough! i want it to look standard as possible

another thing on all the pipework your gonna need a lip on the end of it

Just noticed this thread.

The first picture is my car, I put up a small thread when I fitted an ST cooler to my Vrs. Its a bigger job than it looks, took me 2days. The pipework was all customly done and made up a MAF sensor bracket myself to attach to the pipework. There's another guy on here who stays local to me who has also done it.

The bumper does need modifying. I have also removed the drivers side foglight to fit the pipework behind it.
