Fabia VRs - Needs some tlc for next 80K miles

Featured Replies

I'm looking for some help and advice please...

I've had my VRS since new (Mar 06) and have done 85000 enjoyable miles - It's been dealer serviced since new and there's nothing else on the market that I'd like to buy for now. As I do a healthy mileage around the UK, I want to do some preventative work to make sure the next 85000 miles are as trouble free (could be difficult as nothing has ever gone wrong with my Vrs). For starters, I intend to have the front and rear shocks, discs and pads replaced and have the clutch checked over as I think it may be beginning to wear. Can anyone suggest any other sensible maintenance that I should do while the running gear is being sorted and what bushes may be appropriate to change ?

Thanks

BT

I'm in the same positon however my dampers have only dine about 40k.

Need to fit cupra bushes as mine are shot. While I'm at it I'll check the arb bushes. Other than that nothing seems wrong with mine.

If it's on the original consul bushes I think you may hold the record for them lasting so long. Sounds like you got a really good one. If it isn't broken don't fix it.

Things likely to be past their best are. Clutch, clutch release bearing. Consul bushes, drop links, ARB bushes. Engine mountings, gearbox dogbone mount. Exhaust rubber hangers. Possibly, track rod ends, front wheel bearings, dampers and all springs.

Hope mine last so well.

I replaced my console bushes the other day, along with wishbone front bushes and ARB bushes. Console bushes were still in tact at 102k miles but steering feels so much better now, a lot more precise..

Certainly console bushes first!

The front wishbone bush and arb bushes looked fine but thought i'd do them all to save me a job later..
