Anyone know what type of screws used to secure the airbox?

Featured Replies

As someone pointed out ages ago, I have a shiney silver screw holding the cover on the airbox down. I *think* this may of been the cause of my latest rattle, as it was poking up in the air!

Its not exactly a snug fit! Anyone got any idea what type of screw they are so i can grab some more? :D

Just black self tappers I think. About 1/2" long, course thread.

Any idea on thread size?

Been up all night emoticon-0140-rofl.gif Not sure how self tapper thread size is quoted to be honest. Will have a look at Skoda Manual and be back shortly.

Edit: No size quoted mate.

self tapper size is denoted by the width of the head of the screw, sooo im guesing about 6-8mm

it is a course "thread" maybe a bit longer than 1/2 inch though, scrappies will be your best bet, as i suspect the only way to get them from the dealer would be via buying an airbox

Have removed the dodgy screw and is cable tied for the time being

Having a full service on friday, I assume they'll need to get into it to change a filter? Will mention to them that theres a screw missing, hopefully they'll have something suitable if not will source one on sat
