after i got sick of my iPhone

How come?

A phone which works poorly with almost all in-built car kits?

If you had read my earlier post you will see that you are incorrect (they work very well with my windows based BMW too)

iPhone works great with my Mazda OEM kit too :)

You know I haven’t a clue!!! Perhaps I meant mobile?? perhaps I had the keyboard upside down :D

I just gone android with the LG In touch Max (only Android 1.5 compared to the newer handsets with 2.0) although its had to be sent back with a screen fault.

Luckily I should be able to set my sat nav up with the google account code and it gets the gets the contacts online from Google mail. so i wont lose anything after having nuked it.

I'm liking Android after having windows mobiles phones.

Surely you meant option, dearie.

My wife has just upgraded to a Motorola DEXT so we are a fully androided household. I'm more than happy with mine.

How come?

Main one's were the useless battery life and the ability for the phone to scratch by mearly thinking about a scratch.

Ah ha!! I sweet sherry for that man! I just tried it in a spell check and option came up. I am a liplock

Ooooh! I really want one now!

Just been to have a look at one in the T-mobile shop (only a dummy though) and it feels really nice in the hand. The X10 looks nice too but shame it's only running Android 1.6 atm.

No mate nothing at all, but that doesn't bother me as I never put any of mine in a case. I think they look better without lol

So whats the battery life like on the desire?

On 2nd charge, and getting about the same as my Hero 24-36 hours. That's with lots of net browsing, texting and using bluetooth for a few calls.

Which is about right for most touch screen smartphones these days.

Mines not bad, I'm using it all the time so its currently killing it lol

Hmmmm, this may be the thing that get's me out of the iphone habit, spoke to T-Mobile today and they will buy me out of the last 2 months of my O2 contract and do a 2 handset deal on the desire Business 1 plan for under £60 a month including VAT.

I am probably going to go for it, then sell the current 3GS's on eblag and just get a used Ipod Touch to use for music in the car and for the kids to play the games I have already bought from the app store.

I have been on you tube looking at reviews for the last hour or so, and it just looks so slick and functional. I do love the iphone, but must admit that I am bored with it's interface now after having a 1st gen / 3g / 3gs. The major thing has been the car integration, but if I can bag an iPod touch for the right price then I can still use the apps I have bought (mainly games) and use it in the car for music ..... result :)

Dont be suckered into the T-Mobile Notwork from 02 for the sake of a handset.

I got SWMBO an employee contract on T-Mob (I know someone who works in HQ) that was basically free. The network is so bad we decided to switch out of that ASAP. I recall being in London and her not getting a signal.

I agree with foo, t-mobile are really bad. I got mine from carphone warehouse in the end on Orange.

Suprised by that!

I have found T-mobile to be really good both in coverage and in service.

The only place I have struggled to get signal before was on the isle of Skye.

The thing that puts me off with other networks are their data plans. Most only offer 500mb! I can chew through that in a couple of days sometimes! I believe there's a fair useage policy with T-mob of 5gb!

I am still shopping around a bit though and seeing what other networks are offering but may well end up re-newing with t-mobile.

I came from T-Mobile to O2 on my business contract and have regretted it (apart from having an iPhone that is :)) O2 arse rape you on european roaming which I do a lot of. T-Mobile customer service is UK based for business, O2 kept me hanging one 23 minutes on the dedicated business support yesterday and then made no attempt to retain me. I have a T-Mobile USB dongle for mobile broadband and at the moment I am in Aberdeen connected with HSDPA (Typing this out using that connection) and my O2 iPhone has no service.

It's all horses for courses, I use the phone for business and am not to wet behind the ears when it comes to contracts and providers :)

I was happy enough with T-Mobile before and their business support is spot on compared to the service I have had from O2 so far, and with the amount of roaming I do, some of which T-Mobile allow you to take from your bundle rather than bill you will allow me to make savings. I have never suffered a loss of coverage in the past with T-Mobile, poor signal yes, but at the moment, sitting here in Aberdeen near the docks, T-Mobile dongle = full strength connection / iPhone O2 connection - No service.
