Forced to raise my car up

Featured Replies

Well the roads around Aberdeenshire have always been a load of crap but now that they are all thawing out after temperatures of -18 they are totally destroyed!

My car is scraping in places it never used to scrape, it looks as if the area has been hit with random mortar fire, the pavement which connects to my drive is now so low that my exhaust scrapes on it no matter how slowly you leave the driveway.

It's not as if the car is even stupidly low, it's running standard 16's and you can fit a couple of fingers underneath each wheel arch. As the council never have any money in there budget at the best of times I'll have no choice but to raise my coilies up [:(]

Pretty sure it would be a smoother ride down the Gaza strip...

Feeling you pain here too mate. Getting the usual massive cracks and potholes now for this time of year. I too can get my hands between the rear arches and almost the front too. It was only ever the front splitter i use to catch on larger speed bumps, but twice this week I hit what I think was a lower wishbone now. Dont want to raise mine up unless it gets really bad, tho im already getting fed up with avoiding big holes.

Its like that here too , even my little 1.4 Comfort on standard suspension is being slowly destroyed by pot holes , I dread to think how a lowered car would cope!

On my way to work I go round a little round about that's not much more than a T junction.

I keep looking right, as ya do.. last 3 days I've gone wollop into a nice new pot hole I keep missing as I'm looking for traffic.. Have now instructed SWMBO to remind me ;)

I can't believe how bad the roads have got with the chill, Feels like the poor cars getting it's yearly quoter of accidental wacks in just a few days!

Pfft, amateur!

Once the thaw sets in, the roads are going to be in a right old state. My driveway is tarmac, and looks like it will need resurfaced. Another £1000 to find. :dull:

Think I'll raise mine DOWN. Hee, Hee!!

Mine is standard and even mine is scraping here and there. Roads here are in a terrible way too.
