They do not come off BUT get some oven cleaner, and the carbon just fades away

Carbon cleaner in most supermarkets, but the betta ware version is cheaper (err not really, it is cheaper to buy but they try to flog you something every two days and the wife always bites, the poor man trying to make a living crap give him another tenner)

Polish it in situ with autosol for a nice finish.

AutoSol always works a treat

Mine was thick with carbon (on the inside) when I bought it. A good rub with autosol and it came up a treat!

Not a particularly great pic of the exhaust, but before I started on it with the autosol, you wouldn't have seen the inside of the tailpipe!!

i think we have hijacked this thread for who's got the shinyist exhaust/vehicle

I use my wheel cleaner (wonderwheels) on the exhaust. Brings it up a treat!

I find the best way is to take the backbox off and get it on a machine buff lol im quite lucky as i work in a custom exhaust place :giggle: ive herd metal polish is good tho!

Not bad for water and uber fine wire wool.

The standard exhaust still looks like two sausages in a hot dog bun though don't you think?! :giggle:

I hate the standard exhaust tail pipes I'm glad their finally off mine

I think the exhaust is the best bit about the rear of the car.

Nah I like it too, its just when my mate mentioned that comment, it made me chuckle :giggle:

Ive noticed recently that the tip is hanging down more than it used to. Does anyone know if the rubber mount is replaceable where the backbox is hung onto? Think that might be the cause of it hanging a bit lower.

rubber mount should be replaceable, prety sure you can get very good jetex performance ones that last longer.
