Felicia Brake Lights

Featured Replies

Hello All,

I noticed this morning, that when I put my foot in the brake pedal, with the ignition off, the rear

brake lights still work.

Is this correct, or is the a wiring problem somewhere?

Thanks as always.

:) Nothing wrong, that's how they are.

Yup. They're suppose to do that.

Had this on both my old cars too.

Suppose it's should there be a fault with the ignition switch then you can still have your brake lights on should you need to stop.

Standard German safety feature, IIRC.

That's good news. I don't really like trying to trace

obscure electrical faults. Now I don't have to.

Thanks to all who replied.

tbh most cars do exactly the same,... and many also will turn the reversing lights on too without the ignition being on

Will have to give that one ago!

Although I do know that putting my car into reverse at the moment is turning the ABS light on! :wonder:

I was surprised to find on most other cars the horn needs the key in the ignition.
