My New Fabia 1.9tdi sport

Featured Replies

Hi, just but the deposit down, hopefully picking it up this wednesday sometime. Can't wait. Will get picks asap.

Was woundering if anybody has tuned up this engine in particular, or anything with the suspension as its meant to be the same throughout the range?

Thinking of a Revo remap, aswell as getting Eibach springs for a nice little bit of lowering on the car?

Any feedback welcome, cheers.

likin the revo map and springs  post some pics when u get it

If your Sport is new or newish it should have the sports suspension option which is 15mm lower than the rest of the Fabia range.

Have you got the white roof option on yours?

Nice car

Aye will get pics up probly the day i pic it up. Its on an 08 plate, i had notice it was an option for the lower suspension but dont think it has it or at least its still to high for me, its like its on stilts.

Negative on the white roof like, not sure which i would have prefered myself but it looks good in all black, might have a look round the showroom when a pick mine up to see if theres any with whiteroof and black body.

Think am painting the chrome grill black quite soon after a get it which should look good also. :)

i agree with the stilts thing-my other half says mine feels like driving a transit!! needs to be lowered but he lives up a track but will do it one day when we live down a nice flat road! i do know of someone that stripped the car out completly and put in bucket seats, took out all the dashboard things and basically made it into a rally car but apprently it sounds really good and looks awesome. so it can be done if you have the time and the money. i am hopefully taking mine on a rolling road in feb so i will let you know what bhp it is kicking out standard.

My wife has a 1.9tdi that we had remapped by R-Tech in Hinckley, Leicestershire. This was done several thousand miles ago and the car really goes well, smooth and bags of extra torque. No problems at all so far. The remap was a very good price (less than half the price of Revo!).

A Whiteline rear antiroll bar has also been fitted, it keeps the car much flatter without detracting from the comfortable ride. Handling is greatly improved. I was tempted to fit Eibachs because they're not too expensive, but took a ride in a Fabia II fitted with them and was not impressed by the much firmer ride, so decided to stick with standard suspension and the rear ARB.

Thanks for the info, so the whiteline RARB is fitted to a mk2 fabia, just cause i havent been able to find one, if so where was it purchased and for how much? Also if the standard car had a RARB i would like to know thanks. Think am gona stick to revo tho just cause its me mechanic that deals with revo and he does all me other work very cheap so i like to stay loyal. Unfortunately the bank is still pi*sing me about, but as soon as i get the car the pictures will be up people. :)

The Whiteline RARB can be obtained from either Awesome (on this forum) or Balance Motorsport. It cost me about £117, but I think may have gone up a bit since then, so probably about £140 now inc. shipping.

The car has no standard rear ARB.

The Whiteline bar is very easy to fit - took me about 20 minutes and a very well worth while upgrade for the time and money spent.

Hopefully this works for the pictures, cheers for the info on the RARB, will have a think about gettin one. Just makes me think what else is interchangable between the mk1 fabia.

If any one know whats the deal with the headlights aswell would be a big help, as it looks as though its one bulb for dipped and main beam, cause i want HID's asap in the projectors. Thanks.

good pics like it looks really smart

Looks good

To me, it looks like you have the 15mm lowered suspension on that one already.

Today i took the bump strips off, didnt clean it but will get round to that later, was very easy just boiling water and they pull off easy and most of the sticky stuff comes off with the strip.

I also fitted a drop-in K&N air filter which was just as easy to fit, 2 screws and the airbox is open. Coments on the suspension would be appreciated as these pictures of the wheels show it on level ground, and hopefully with out the lowered suspension already. Thanks.

Have ordered my HID kit as well as LED sidelights, will post pic's as soon as fitted.

Also managed to do a top speed test on a private road i like to call the A1, got 120 going downhill which was fun.

get some mud flaps stops mud going up side of car i got front and rear i will take pic of mine and post

thinking about getting mud flaps for mine too-getting fed up of mud going up the side. might try and clean it tomorrow if weather is any good. the lights are modular and are H7's. one bulb for each side. your lights might seem a bit low as well but that is easily solved!

Looks good

Its NOT lowered I'm afraid :S

Exactly the same as ours, which is an 08MY build too

Warning:

Fitting HID's without washers and self levelling, is illegal

A lot of folk do, but I must point it out I feel

BTW..Fitting sidelights is a bugger!!

Hopefully it will look good when i get round to buying some springs then, and let is know about the mud flaps, dont like the look of the normally but if it helps keep the mud away.

Unfortunately i am fully aware of the legality of HID kits, but i do use the responsibly and have had them in a previous car. Plus they look badass lol.

Have just ordered some mudflaps, not sure of the exact price as of yet, think i am getting them trade price aprox £30 for the whole car. Will post pic's once there on.

Was woundering how other ppl keep thier car clean, this is my first black car and its dirty all the time, granted its poor weather atm.

Also has anyone else noticed the aero wipers while at speed water spits from the tip of the middle of the wipers onto the screen so it never gets clean/dry?

Thanks.

how to keep a car clean? wash it :rofl: and this is from a WHITE fabia owner, its impossible to keep clean even after its washed it looks dirty!

as for the wiper problem yeah i have it aswell, just think its a design fault tbh

edit: oh and the mudflaps are quite easy to fit if you have the right tools, as you have to take screws out of the arch and its difficult on the rear wheels as you cant move them out the way. im sure a extention tool would be good but i didnt have one! :'(

Why would you want to remove the body protector strips? I would have thought ADDING them would have been a better option... They look ok(ish) and will go quite a way to saving your doors from knocks and scrapes!

BTW, Thinking of fitting the 'ol silvertek indicator bulbs to my Fabia, get rid of the orange blobs in the light clusters.

i like the look of the black wing mirrors, a bit like the new vrs. do they match the a pillars

Update; revotechnik map done = holy ****.

2nd gear nearly breaks traction when starting at low rpm and running through. i can only imagine what the vrs is like with a map must be tourque as hell.

but bye for now, am away to france for a weeks snowboarding! cheap student style though so its a 26hour coach ride.

laters.
