When is factory Build Week 49?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know when factory build week 49 is?

I have just called my dealer (Browns Skoda, High Wycombe) and asked for an updated delivery date for my Octavia vRS. I was told that it is scheduled for build week 49.

Which in turn means that delivery is now likely to be January :thumbdwn:

Week 49 begins Monday 29th November. If my Fabia's anything to go by, they're reasonably good at sticking to the promised dates as regards production, but mine ended up a few days late due to delivery delays (I had to pick it up on a Monday instead of taking it home on the Friday, so no great loss!)

That's why I am confused. My calender also says week 49 is week commencing Monday 29th November. But, the dealer said, build week 49 which is the end of December

Do the factory use different week numbers?

Wouldn't hold your breath on week 49, my Octy was originally scheduled for Week 42, was then promised Week 46 this week and now it will be Week 48, told I "should" get delivery Chrimbo week.

   The weeks tallied when I ordered my Furby. They did estimate quote me a delivery date (can't remember how long after the build date off the top of my head), so maybe whoever you were speaking to got the two mixed up?

You are getting the new shape Octavia aren't you? I am getting the old shape (vRS). I believe that these are built on a different line, maybe even in a different factory. Therefore, I "may" not have as much of a problem.

I guess he meant end of December for delivery then. Does delivery to the UK really take in the region of 4 weeks from build date?

Something like that, yeah... Most of it's sitting around, unfortunately - at the factory, at the ferry port (both ends), at the Skoda UK depot...

Still, I'm sure they go as quickly as they can, realistically

Have you ever tried to post an Octy?!!! Probably would take 3 weeks to get it in the letterbox! and with it being near Xmas and everything!!!

Seriously though - can you not ask your dealer to try and source a UK car? Mine did and I got it inside of 2 weeks from date of order. The only car they could source had rear parking sensors fitted which they threw in for free! (wouldn't be without them now  ).

I also thought that they'd built all the vRS's they were going to build and so were effectively running down the stocks?! I seem to recall some posts on here from a few months ago (Sept 2004) which talked about car availability.

The dealer could get me a UK car quicker if I went for another colour. But, as I want black, there are none available in the UK dealer network at the moment.

AFAIK, they are still building the vRS on a seperate production line (possibly even a different factory) to the new Octavia until mid next year.

I'm sure my dealer told me they weren't building anymore and I remember the post on here too
