this one will come with the 19mm t piece but no hose.

Mine cost me £13-ish from Bailey so that would be £80-odd so far for the Saikou Michi option.

Can anyone tell me why you need a t piece.

I thought the gas was routed from engine straight to catch can and then from catch can to vented air or filter..

you have a cranck case breather and the rocker cover breather these 2 pipes need joining into one thats why a t piece is needed

just seen you have a fabia vrs thats different go back to fabia section lol

aye but if you read the description he says it'll take a few days to make so would be easy to ask for a 19mm outlet

that ebay one looks like the universal ones that my fabricator already makes and distributes but obviously someone else is selling them :S . these are his links to the 2 universal ones. http://www.alloyracingfabrications.com/1-ltr-alloy-catch-tank.html or http://www.alloyracingfabrications.com/1-ltr-alloy-catch-tank-1.html people could specify the 19mm outlets but i prefer the round cylinder design

Have a look at this site fella pimpmyskoda.co.uk, its one of the guys from this site its got some good pics of where the pipes go and shows the ' T ' piece.think it'll make sense to you when you see how its done.hope it helps

Making a 19mm inlet over any other size is going to add pence at most to the cost of manufacture.

The can I mentioned above has a 3/4" inlet & 1/2" outlet. That is 19mm and 12mm. That's fitting a single 19mm pipe instead of a 12mm pipe when making it :o

Also, if he is making a copy of the other guys work then that would be a just a copy of somebody design and if you want to get all defensive, theft of IP if the design is patented.

The one from the US is $75 as I have an e-mail from the guy stating so.

Since $75 is £51, then if the genuine article is £51, then £51 for a copy is expensive.

If you can get one of these for $75 then just buy it.

When i got mine he wouldn't give any discount on the OCC but did do the postage cheaper.

What you are forgetting is that labour rate will be more expensive in the UK for making a few to the same design than a guy who makes them over in the US.

Most ebay OCC will have no filtering system inside,so you may as well just make your own out of an empty bottle.

this thread makes me laugh!!!!!

this is prob one of the most important mods to do to the 1.8t and your all worried about paying £70 lol

the people that havent got a catch can take your side mount of and your boost pipework and have a look inside lol it will be full of oil and to get to your sidemount it would have to of gone through your turbo not a good combination aswell as lining the side mount rendering it pretty useless lol

so dont skimp buy a occ that works and the one from america stage 3 does work and does it well to

cheap ebay cans have no baffle so they are pointless and a waste of money

do some research and it will also tell you why you need to keep the breather system the same size all the way through i.e 19mm

good luck cheap skates lol

cheap skates

the one im havin done is exactly the same spec but cheaper and will be baffled mate, but im not forcing anyone into buying it and im not gonna let him sell them for nothing!! if people dont wanna pay what he wants thats fine with me. like i said once he has made one and sent me the pics i shall put up a group buy, until then im not getting into petty debates about prices

Just so, people should wait till they see the photos and get the price if it fair and a good product, then pay the man and gets your stuff.

What you are forgetting is that labour rate will be more expensive in the UK for making a few to the same design than a guy who makes them over in the US.

I can state with a good degree of certainty that it isn't true, because getting parts made for work in the UK is cheaper than made in the US, both of which are more than made in china.

However, I'm not after an argument and while I could just buy one from the US, I'd like to see what is offered here and at what price, because money that stays in the UK is better than money that goes elsewhere for us all.

Indeed, and the ones with the metal rag in them tend to let metalised fibres or just shards of metal off with age, and so the engine gets to breath these in.

False economy and I'm not suggesting the £13 ebay special is the way forward.

I used this T-piece for my install: http://www.auto-performance.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=154_155&products_id=954

£3.47. Got all my flouro hose and stainless clips from them too. The only thing I don't like about my install is the blue hoses! Wish they were black.

Other than that it's great, and reliable. I got rid of the vacuum feed to the inlet manifold, so I run direct vents off the rocker and crankcase. Works very well.

Like I said on another thread, depends on what you want, the look you want and how much you want to spend.

As you see the top of the T piece I wanted alloy, and that costs a little more.

I have had cheap silicone hoses on other cars and was never happy with having to get different hoses from different manufacturers and having different shades of a colour.

I haven't got a lot to chuck at the car but what I do put on it I am happy with, not always happy with the price but I have had some bargains so that sort of makes up for it

And as I stripped out a lot of crap from the bay, and I have a cunning plan to strip out some more, you see everything.
