Like josh I've modded my intake scoop.

I know the scoop is designed to reduce the intake of foreign bodies, but without the Mod there is too great a restriction in the inlet diameter.

When I get around to it i'll put some wide holed plastic gauze over it to prevent leaves and wild hedge voles entering it (mind due there is an air filter further down the line to prevent this!)

What cost is the One click compared with other diesel remaps like Jabba , also it would be nice to see some dyno results? Assume its in a different league to the Dragon type tuning box plug ins.

Even if you fit mesh, won't the road spray and filth clog the filter up in a much shorter time now?

I've got a standard TDi75. Do you think the intake would have any effect on my car, or do i have to da a remap? :confused:

Possibly, but if you've got a green filter you just pop it out, clean it, retreat it and hey presto, back to new again.

To be honest, the only reason I modded mine was to reduce the extra smoke of the remap.

It achieved this.

As for performance, I think there is a difference, but that could be due to the extra air mixing with the extra fuel of a remap.

If your car is standard I wouldn't bother. Skoda would have developed the airbox and inlet to suit the standard engines. By modding it you may hinder the performance rather than enhance it.

As I've said before...

SEAT thought it necessary to put the wider pipe on their PD160...

I'm running 175bhp, so I think it is necessary to put a wider pipe on AND modify the intake scoop lol

Out of curiosity, does anybody know if the power figures quoted for the PD160 are as conservative as for the PD130? I mean, many people have had their PD130s rolling roaded at 145 plus... so if the bigger pipe is deemed necessary for a genuine 160BHP then maybe it should be fitted to the PD130s that actually kick out 140-150 horses?

I thought the general consensus was that most were closer to 140 once they were run in?

i have found after 500 miles in 2 days with the pipe on that it pulls more in low gears all they way to the line (1,2,3) 4,5,6 are still not that good as it simply doesnt have the power to pull it that well up there :(

fuel consumption seems to be slightly better too :)

all in all its only 30 so why the hell not
