PD Cupra 160 Intake **UPDATE**

Featured Replies

I have found out why some people are having to wait for the 2 Cupra parts.

Apparently there are 2 different versions.

One is a UK Version of the intake and the other is a European version - the difference been, the Euro version is slightly larger. Both types have different part numbers, but prehaps this'll explain why there's a wait for the Euro version and not the UK one, it also may explain the difference in power gains, so anyone who has it fitted already may have the UK one.

 P.S. 6-7 Week Delivery date on my "European" version.

Can you give us the part numbers of the 'Euro' version so those of us who are waiting on an order can check we've asked for the right one? Cheers.

Yeah, that would be nice!

Thanks!

Thats interesting to know. Thanks. Got any part number for the UK version? When you say the Euro version is bigger, do you know how much?

"Explain the differende in power gains"?

What are the power gains? Have you tested the system on a rolling road? I believe that it works but I would like to see some figures...

Gains are marginal... my car got an extra .5bhp with this... altho the torque curve is alot smoother, theres MUCH less soot and the day to day driving is alot smoother, the turbo spools up quicker too

i think

I have ordered the stuff here in Denmark and wait and wait at the moment.... Have you seen any improvement in the economy? More air should also meen better economy. What's the MFA readout at say 60 miles per hour and 80 miles per hour? Any differences?

Interesting dyno gains.

I agree with less soot as well - was best result for me. :)

I ordered the South American market intake which is bigger still. :D

I've ordered 6LL 129 621 and 6LL 129 618

UK or Euro?

Stephen

6LL 129 621 for the tube - Euro

6LL 129 618 for the bumper end part - Euro

I dont know what the UK version is, the parts man at Seat in Leeds (JCT600 which is joint with Chrysler) told me that the UK version was different and he would be able to source that quicker, he said it was because it's hotter in Europe, so the diameter of the intake is larger to compensate for the increased heat, whereas it's rarely warm here :D

Hope this helps

Everybody who's pestering for Dyno results from this mod before they buy the stuff need to just listen to people's personal opinions instead of persistently asking for dyno results...

Who (apart from Neo_vR) is going to pay

I'm gonna go for this as soon as I get my hesitation problem sorted. I'm not interested in the final output of the car. So long as feels like it pulls better, then thats good enough for me.

It might be enough, but it would still be interesting to see some results from a dynotest. As I wrote, I have already ordered the stuff. When I receive it I will test it on a dyno. As an importer of tuningboxes I do a lot of dynotests so it's not a problem. I can also test with VAGCOM and my Gtech Pro Competition to see if the 0-60 time is improved.

In 14 days I will also test some cars for 5-gas pollution. If the car makes less soot it will be easy to see that in the test.

here are some pics for some people who never saw this

(sorry for the bad english)

Good pictures , a big difference! I arent particuarly bothered if it does nothing to my Standard Furby vRS, it has to do something when I have it chipped.

Chris.

I fitted the parts today on my chipped Fabia TDI100 !

Did not notice any major differences, it seems a tad smoother though...

Could be a placebo effect but then for

exactly its only

its more like 29 quid actually

c'mon lads , lets not get fussy - its a cheap mod with (at least) theoretical advantages - so long as its watertight i cant see a problem knowing youve got the biggest pipe you can get for yer motor!

After a weekend of a lot of cruising I have to revise my previous statement. I do notice a difference! At high speeds (140kmh+) I notice way more torque then before... it keeps on going and going, not what I was used to with my (remapped) TDI100.

I am off on holiday to Costa del Sol Spain in 2 weeks time, hence going to try and source the parts from a local Seat dealer out there if possible. I would hope even if the parts are not in stock, they could be obtained within a couple of days.

No one considered a group buy from somewhere? These are getting popular.
