Colours for new Octavia

Featured Replies

Have ordered a new Octavia for 2005, my third one so far. The dealers are pushing for a new colour through Skoda, an island green, but all I've seen of it is the brochure pic. I would be delighted if anyone could refer me to other pic's of island green octavia as the dealer reckons the first one he'll get will be my one!!! Thanks.

Hi Kevin,

Welcome to Briskoda

Not heard of island green so can't really help on that one I'm afraid.

Have you tried Skodas website?

JT

Mine is Island green. It is very smart. The colours shown on the Skoda site don't do it justice. The "My car colour" on this forum is an approximation.

Regret I don't yet have a photo ofthe car.

Hello and Welcome,

a lovely colour, have seen it at my dealers and as stated the website guide dosen't do it justice.

The one I tested on Wednesday was Island Green. If you're anywhere near Sheffield go and have a look at Bickertons demonstrator. Ask for Melvin.

I dunno what its called but I hope they bring out the new Octavia vRS in the Audi Blue, you know the one on the S3 etc... :D

has a nice video of the Octavia.

Also, thanks all for your replies and welcome. Fredw's colour was a little frightening to be honest!!! I'd rather it be not as "Oirish green" (I can say this, being from Cork!) as that. Anyway, I'll keep trawling for a few photos...

Maybe I'll just have a run at BLACK! Great after a wash, but needs 2 washes a week...

Black is always THE option, yeah?

I'd love to see a picture of the new Octavia in Black Magic with the 17" Pegasus alloys.

Do what you can Kevin

This is my Island Green Octavia Elegance. Colours reasonably accurate

A photo of my Island Green TDI Elegence. Colours fairly accurate.

Second attempt. First set of attachments failed miserably.

Hey, that ain't too bad at all... It's nice, I feared it might be a lepreachaun (sic?)-type green, that traditional, Christmas green, too bright for quiet ol' me.

Yep, that green is smart alright. Thanks for the effort fredw. And you're happy with it, yeah?

Also, would you flinch from plain black? A buddy says silver - but somebody once said silver was a colour for those who couldn't choose a colour!!!

Man, you'd think this was the biggest worry of my life!!

But I like that green. Will I go for it Fredw? Thanks again

I too have to order a new Octavia for 05

I am relly struggling to choose a colour, My current octavia as "Stone Metal Gray" (metalic pastel blue ish), i would like black but as has been mentioned before its a devil to keep clean, If i get siulver it will fade away in the complany car park.

What is everyones opinion of the gold (Metalic biege) ? and the dark gray ?

Hi! I haven't seen the gold beige yet, but I suspect it's like the passat equivilent, and that's only ok IMHO. Since seeing the green above, and it is smart, I've had second thoughts about it.

Am tipping towards the black, or the silver. Silver Octavias, especially with colour co-ordinated pieces, are lovely. But I drove a new black Octy and it is BEAUTIFUL. Sheer class - and one can always let it get dirty, just wash it for the occassions!!!

I still don't know though...

Saw an Island green at the dealers today and chose it without hesitation. It's just fine...

mine is a silver Mk1 Octy and i do love it but i know i'll be going for a Black one next unless they have some new other colours out by then, like some of the Audi Blue's and greys etc.

get a black one.

I have now seen the metalic beige on the new occy and it looks as good, if not better than it does on the front of the brochure.

I would have gone for black but the roads where i live are very muddy and i do 20k per year, i dont want to wear my elbows out cleaning the thing.

I prefer most of the Audi colours, i have seen a few new Audi A4's etc and they have some lovely colours.

Saw a New Octavia in Flamenco Red metallic at the local dealer. It looks stunning IMHO.

fredw, you're giving me the hebejebees with talk of Flamenco Red. It's not a colour I've seen around Cork/Munster in a long while. Saw one at the dealers but I'm not a metalic red kinda guy!!!!! Couldn't do for it...

clayts, the beige was there at the dealers, no hubs/alloys on. It didn't look good to me. I saw the pics in the promos and felt it could be a stunner, but the relaity was a big letdown. One other guy there thought it "insipid", a biteen harsh for sure. Beige reminds me of a few passats you'd see around.

Anyway, I'll post a pic or two when I get the island green car. fredw's photo is an excellent representation.

Agree that Audi colours look fine, but are those greys as nice now as even a year ago??

So vain....

WrightyRS, definitely a nice colour, that Audi blue. Strong.

I just put in an order for an ambiente this week.

Theres a pic on the inside back of the brochure which SWMBO and myself both liked. I thought it was island green metallic, she thought it was graphite. We couldn't agree so I went for metallic red instead.

Kevin, which dealer did you go through? How long have you been waiting?

Yes i asked myself the same , but then reakised that only 2 colours are true Skoda , silver is too common , Black and Red . Black shows off the Alloys perfect and during the winter all cars are dirty anyway , but during the summer all you need is a little TLC , and its worth the effort .

Reckon you've gone for a sensible colour there Kevin - given the mud etc thats on some of the roads around Cork I don't reckon a black one would look smart more than for about a couple of seconds!

Yeah - the island green, which I've had for two weeks now, is fine. As stated earlier, it's "smart". KentStu saying sensible is spot on - but the subdued, flash boyracer in me is secretly hurt!! And hey, enough jabs at Cork roads... the great thing about them, muddy or otherwise, is that they lead to Cork ;-)

The island green works well. Ain't too flashy at all, and looks fine and classy. I've driven a few "agricultural" roads since getting it, and a few pigeons have also signed upon it, have trailed some lorries in the wet... you know the deal, and the green is holding up really well.

Walter, I've seen only 1 other OctyII on the public roads, a graphite, I think. Didn't like that too much. However, when collecting from the dealer a fortnight ago, there was a golden beige, all plated up, and it looked better than I though first time!

Johnmb - can't argue with you re the black, the only colour car to beat black is black (or is that catwalk-talk?). But the fabia I owned for 2 years prior to this, I wased only once!!!! What chance a black with me???!!!

Anyhow, I think the OctyII looks stylish and understated, and holds lots of colours well. Since getting it, I think it's brill to drive, super road-holding, and comfort...man!

Could start on about a few things I'm still on the learning curve with, but that's for another topic!
