Accodring to my dealer, they are all one colour. There was no option and he said it would match, it did.

If you are going in, though, just take your blank panel in as it takes just seconds to remove and replace. they can re-assure you of the colour!

Bought the unit from my local dealer last week, part number 1Z0 868 565 F Y20, price £15.83. It the light cream/grey colour which matches the blanking panel that it will replace. It's not been fitted yet, will report back with some photos.

The fl fabia's roof lining looks like its a different colour to the pre fl - looks like a light grey in the se trim, may be the showroom darkness.

As mentioned, take the existing panel in and ask... If they say it's the same, ok. If it turns out to be wrong, refuse to pay if they say it is correct. I think it is classed as grey but looks somewhere in the realms of cream.

Any new takers to the sunglass holder? What did you think, was it worth the difference for the money?

Personally, I am totally satisfied as I use all the spaces available, but others may just wanna use the standard cubbyholes. I also think it keeps valuable glasses out of sight of would be tea-leaves who would like to relieve you of your designer shades! B)

Hello,

I used the part number and got the sunglasses holder in 2 days from my dealer. Fitting took all of five minutes. It is quite a useful thing as its easier to get the glasses from

above the mirror than out of the glove box. I used two dinner knives to ease the alarm bit out . Fitting it really is easy. I think its worthwhile. It doesn't really save space as the glasses case is still in the glove box for when I step out of the car. Thanks everyone for the info, I wouldn't have even thought about it until I saw it mentioned here.

Before, during and after photos - if these are useful, perhaps someone can allow me to permanently upload to this thread rather than using my village website as the image source.

The alarm sensor clustor needs gently unclipping after prising out the plate from the ceiling:

The sensor clustor clips onto the back of the sunglass holder, it's quite a tight fit and initially got me wondering whether I had been sold the right part!

The holder just pushes back into the vacant aperture, the clips seem to be a lot stronger, i needed to remove the unit a couple of days later to fit a phone kit and ended up removing the interior light cover instead.

Just a gentle push up and the holder glides open, there is a soft neoprene-like material inside to protect the lenses of your glasses.

I'm very pleased, well worth the £16 and 5 minutes it took to install, can't understand why one isn't in every Skoda.

Great job with the pictures.!! I will get my new Fabia Greenline in 2 weeks and will get me such a sunglass holder as well. Thanks.

the place that stocks these will be wondering why there is a surge in orders for just these glasses holders

I started a bit of a trend!

Prob is, now when I sell, I have no extras that are unusual! :giggle:

I was looking at fitting the underseat storage boxes too but I see someone has covered that in a new post. I was told they wont fit the Greenline... Nor does the sunglass holder I fitted to my Greenline! :p

Then I want an armrest... then.................................................................................................................................................................... B)

Heated seats????? :(

My glasses are in a soft-ish case and just about fit in, case and all. I have to make sure they are slightly over to the right, in order to leave the mechanism clear!

I had heated seats once, in an old Saab... I liked them but the Mrs got too hot so had to unplug hers! (Before the days you could just turn on/off or adjust heat setting. however, I have the black onyx seats in my Skud and find them warm from the offset. B)

  • 1 month later...

i finally got my sun glasses holder fitted. Works perfectly but the mechanism behind catches something so makes a (and I can't describe it) noise..err..sounds like the plastic hinges are scraping/rubbing against something, possibly the lining when it opens/closes. You can't hear it unless you're stationary/parked and quiet. Whilst it's off I might add some sound proofing to stop the sun visors making the roof echo when you release the sun visors and they spring back into the roof.

I want to fit this to the VRS, but the panel looks a lot more grey than the VRS' panel.

Wonder if there is another part number for a different colour.

Stu, I looked again at the photo's loaded here and it just APPEARS to be greyer than it actually is... The lining and holder is a lighter, almost creamy-grey. I think you will be ok.

Skoda told me there was only one couler and it was the correct one! B)

You may be right as I have seen them AHM... Bend the truth a bit, first hand!

I was even told the holder wont fit the greenline (It does, as do the underseat boxes I was told wont fit).

Is yours a newer one though? Perhaps facelift? Mine is a 59 plate. they said there was only one colour but it was the right shade.

had a nosey at a Monte Carlo today... They have a black roofliner with just a blank panel so I guess they will sell a black sunglasses holder for that, too!

I can see many owners trying to get the bodywork trim from one of them too, to give a slight bodykit look to their model!
