Leon Cupra R Brembos on my Octy 2001?

Featured Replies

emoticon-0138-thinking.gif hi all just wondering if any one knows whats involved in putting cupra r brembo calipers on the mark 1 vrs ? and what is needed?

I'd guess calipers, carriers, brake line and new disks. All just a guess though.

Not cheap

.. and pads. :)

Basically if you can salvage the entire front braking setup from an LCR - It will bolt right on. I'm not sure though that standard octy 17s will clear the caliper without spacers.

I needed 10mm spacers for my 4 pots

3 mm spacers is all you need on 17 spiders

p.s the whole kit can be obtained for aroung £500

its not just the cupra r that uses them brakes loads do.

im going for a badger 5 setup of 330x28 2 piece disc's and lcr brembo's, this setup has a few different parts but essentially it all bolts up nicely exactly like the 323 mm setup.

on another note can anyone tell me if 17" spiders fit over the badger 5 setup? hope they do

imo the lcr brembo setup aint that much better the the standard vrs brakes obviously the looks department is far better

the standard lcr setup or the setup i said? otherwise i would have to disagree with that , but as you rightly said imo

i agree....4 pots against 1 pot calipers, no comparison!

ive still got mine sitting here waiting to be refurbed

where are you getting them refurbed? do you have a price for it too? :)

no they dont unless you put spacers on

no they dont unless you put spacers on

just to make sure im reading this right.

so the brakes fit behind the wheel but the wheel just needs spacing out a little so the rear of the spokes clear the front of the caliper, im shocked that 330's fit behing the vrs wheels

are just looking at the sizes and it would appear you need 18 inch rims for 330 discs

will double check this hold fire lol

330 on mine with STD alloys and 10mm spacer.

i know its not a skoda but on my last sierra cosworth i fitted focus rs brembo's with 330mm discs and i only had 17x7 wheels

well the user vRS_Si has managed to get 225 under the standard 17" spider so imguessing the extra 5 mm will be fine looking at his piccys lol only a guess

You need 18" wheels for the LCR brembo setup 17's will be too small

be doing them myself when i get a spare min, just the usual lacquar peeling on them just need flatting back and repainting, got them with a complete lcr i used for my conversion

not really a refurb then, just a touch up lol

Dont think you do mate,

Des has the LCR brembos on his mate and he has the std spiders on. they do fit but you need spacers as said.

OctaviaVRS i think his name is had a black vRS and unfortunately bumped at the ring a bit back, he had 335 CompBrake 6 pots on his and they fit with the std rims with no spacers iirc.

yes billy is right, with the right spacers both those kits fit under spiders.

i have semi refurbed my brembos, rubbed back lots of layers of hammerite smooth then new decals and lacquer.

thats what we want to hear  thanks people i will be looking for some wheels shortly B)

what wheels you looking for, will be selling my spiders asap....

looking for 17" spiders it seems, just put an order in for brakes so i aint got much cash left atm lol.

pm me what you have got
