I need to get some touch up paint for some stone chips caused by over zealous gritting!! When I bought the car I was told it was steel grey (bought second hand) - but looking at the skoda colour charts, my car looks much darker than the colour on the chart. Is there any way of telling what colour the car is from the VIN or chassis number?

ignore the colour charts, they give a slightly false representation of the colour.

AFAIK if you give the VIN or your Reg number to any dealer they will be be able to give you the correct colour match for the car
