Featured Replies

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330407429806&ssPageName=ADME:B:BOC:GB:1123

or ebay item number 330407429806

cheers guys :)

james

Welcome.

Black Magic is a paint name - options were black, yellow, red and silver. Unless you go for the SE which had blue paint.

The only editions were the normal ones - or the the aforementioned SE which came in blue only, had tinted windows, leather interior, cruise control and a CD changer as standard. Also a limited run of 500 or 1,000. Last of the Fabias so most still have warranty left.

Main options were cruise control, leather (£1k+), CD autochanger, xenons and heated front seats.

PD TDi 130 is the engine. A pump dushe (or something German) Turbo diseasel injection engine with 130 bhp. It's the only unit in the vRS Fabia - a lot are remapped and to 160-170bhp.

Look for;

  1. wet rear carpets/leaking doors
  2. clutch slip
  3. clunking suspension
  4. worn tyre edges (can pull to the side, even with perfect alignment)

Not sure of any other model specific faults, the Fabia's seem pretty well built, but not having a vRS I don't know about those as much.

Hope this starts clearing it up, but do a search - will bring up a lot more info on them.

i couldnt of asked for better! really helpful cheers pal. how much are the re-maps? affect the mpg much?

what you think to the one ive been looking at?

im stuck between that and a VERY nice mk6 zs TDCI, just cant make my mind up (currently own an st)

Your welcome. I don't know uch about the vRS, but it's been modded - so might want to wonder how it's been driven/ treated? That said, they are common/sensible mods so might not be too bad. Also going to drive a lot better than a standard one - and coming from an ST I imagine the the standard one will be a lot worse.

Doesn't mention it on the ad, but it's got xenons (see the lumps on the bumper and the projector lence? Same as ST though I guess?) on it which are a good/ desirable option (about £1k to retrofit fully with OEM stuff), as is CC (about £200 tops to retrofit) so quite a well spec'ed model. No idea if it's priced well or not, but low mileage and might be in warranty still too. Go have a look if it seems to be the right price and is local, and go from there. The S2000 in the background makes me think he's probs going to look after the cars, or at least not abuse the Fabia if he's got that to play in. Also, take MPG claims from the computer with a pinch of salt, about 10% out on mine (petrol though). 50 seems to be a good average.

Parents have a Focus, and I do reckon that my 2001 Fabia is better built than the Ford, higher quality plastics and fittings - seats aren't as good though.

Headlamp washers have to be fitted with Xenons, looking at the photo, this car has factory fit Xenons. This is a good thing. It also mentions ESP which is another good thing.

However...

"It is very quick and usually returns between 60-65mpg"

Hmmmm... You will probably push 50-55 out of it if you don't use the loud pedal too much but 60-65, I'd have to call BS on that. All thats missing from that ad is "Beats 330d's away from the lights....."

Edited by Decron

On a long run cruise controlled to 70 my fabia returned 64mpg average. Got me 620 miles to one tank

No idea how much mpg I'll get now on the same long run as it's modded now and needs a service badly just not got the money for it :(

Factory fitted xenons were (I think) about £800-1000 as an optional extra on the Fabia, so no expense has obviously been spared on this. With the xenons the original owner might have gone for other optional extras too - my old 54 plate Fabia in black magic had xenons, cruise and heated seats fitted. The car looks pretty nice from what you can see in the photo.

!!!!!!!! how much!!! lol

Alrighty James

In all honesty I dunno my bhp. Had it rr'd on some rubbish rollers that kept overboosting it setting it into limp mode and wheel spinning. The Reading on those rubbish rollers was 178bhp 288lb ft but with the stuff I can keep up with or beat I.e mk5 golf Gti's focus st's standard I think it's a little bit more than those figures

whatttttt! what have you done? wheres the places to get skoda power and bits from?

you know like jam-sport, pumaspeed for ford etc

That ST is awesome!!! B)

There are a whole host of tuning companies in the Forum Sponsors section that'll release some extra torques from the PD130

Xenons were £500 option, if it has ESP (not Traction Control) that was also a £500 option. If it has ESP, there will be a button on the dash above the stereo marked ESP. If there is one that says TC, it's only got traction control, which isn't nearly as good. Cruise control was £125 and the black paint was £300. I'm surprised there is no CD Changer as that and heated seats are about the only options not listed.

All the cars built after the 2006 MY have woefully misleading fuel economy readings. It's quite possible the display will show 65MPG average, but it's probably really only 50MPG.

It does seem like quite a well specced car. The Octavia vRS alloys are a tasteful upgrade too. The black grille is a personal taste thing to be honest. I'd want to know which KW coilovers it has - KW3's are very different to KW1's.

Mods aren't something to be really scared of, as long as the were done by someone who knew what they were doing.

If I was looking at buying it, I'd want to to know EVERYTHING about the mods and if the owner still has all the original parts. The fact that his other car appears to be a Honda S2000 and their username is hurricanehenry would put me off as they are obviously people who fancy themselves as 'fast'. I can't believe it's got all that and no remap!

If the car was straight and unmodded, I'd say £7500 was about right, but modded cars are worth less, oddly enough, so I'd say £6500 is about the limit of where I'd be looking to go.

Hi Mate

Welcome along.

You'll see most of the most common mods in my signature (i'll follow the herd if nothing else)

there's also a thread of the most common mods somewhere along with rough pricing:

Larger air intake @ £80ish for SEAT dealer

remap @ anything from £250 to £450

rear anti roll bar @ £200 ish

larger front brakes @ £300 ish

front SEAT strut brace @ £50

Front mount intercooler @ £700ish or £400 DIY

There are a couple of VRS's pustting out 250bhp and what started out as a non VRS Fabia aining to run 300bhp. really depends how far you want to go and how deep your pockets are!

Most of the site sponsors such as Jabbasport, Awesome GTI, JKM will be more than ready to take your cash to supply you with bits to mod your car and all are reputable and know their stuff

yer it has Kw v1 coilovers on, but there a good £800 arnt they?, he said they were on when he bought the car he has only owned it for 3000miles! which made me abit like : /

im going to see if i can get him down to around £6900 if can will see.

thats great info there pal cheers :D that skoda like looking at already has KW coilies and rear anti-roll bar and front strut brace which is a touch

whats the differance in re-maps then? like stage 1 etc? cheers :)

Stage one - remap, approx 170 bhp 280 lb/ft +

Stage two - custom remap, exhaust, clutch - approx 180 bhp+ 300 lb/ft+

Not sure on stage three, but think its bigger turbo and anything from 220 bhp - 240 bhp and 360 lb/ft :)

Remaps are more generic or custom. Both your looking at 160-170bhp give or take a few. Torque probably 280-300lbsft. Custom what ever you want. Max from the standard turbo is around 340lbsft I think but if you want this start pricing up a single mass flywheel and clutch. Check out Awesome-gti's rolling road rusults on their site and also JKM's site.

Hybrid garret GT1749VB is around 220-230ish. Again check awesome or jkm's site for rolling road results. If you want more speak to devonutopia, jabbasport or head over to tdiclub.com.

well all the help anyone can need! lol 300lbsft is like double my st lol!

price wise what am i looking at for stage 2 and 3?

Speak to Warwick Hunt he's got a jabbasport stage 3. Think it was about £7k. 270 bhp and 4?? ft lbs. Bet it flies.

Very nice Fiesta btw.

PM chirsw_vrs on here if you want a fairly non bias view going from a ST to a vRS, sure he`ll be happy to help.

That one on ebay looks quite nice, got all the right bits on it imo

Matt

Non bias review from ST to VRS from me aswell

I've had 4 Fiestas 2 of which ST's and one a Stage 2 Mountuned one pushing 190bhp

In all preferences i love the Fabia whereas i couldn't wait to get rid of the ST

Fabia feels more solidly built and it's quicker straight line, due to the torque. IMO the handling will never be that good even on coil overs i still don't trust it. Best handling cars i've owned have been my Fiestas, my Clio 182 and believe it or not my Mondeo ST TDCi. For a big car that thing hugged and stuck to the roads like glue

I've not looked back since coming from the Mountune to the Fabia, only thing i missed and still miss is the popping and banging from the exhaust. But i have a nice noise off my Fabia now from my Exhaust just wish it could pop and bang

If given the choice again i'd still take the Fabia tbh

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, gaddd i duno lol will come down to how much the guy will take off the price, looks wise the cars not great where as craigs fez tdci beats that hands down, just the engine in these is much better and more power prospects (going for a diesel should that be my my thought lol)

lol Nope diesels are meant to be about economy haha

But it's an easily tuneable engine. Great fun and surprising car, i love annoying merc and bmw drivers lol

  • Author

mmmm ile have to think, whole point of me getting one is to be economical, if i wanted around 35mpg ide of kept my st lol decisions decisions
