Is it not just a jack to jack (2.5mm) lead required? You will not get any functionality through the Bolero head unit though, unless you specified MDI.

unless you have the MDI fitted the way to work it is through the 3.5mm Jack in the Jumbobox (armrest).

2.5mm aux socket

they all seem to be 3.5mm on ebay, any ideas?

It is 3.5mm.

If you want better sound quality plus charging, something like a Belkin Tunebase FM (around 50 pounds) plus a 3.5 to 3.5mm cable gives you a charger plus a line out dock (LOD), with a gooseneck to use the 12v jack next to the handbrake.

Unfortunately, I can't find any other LOD/charger combination, and the FM transmitter is generally redundant). If you rent cars regularly, the Belkin is a great option too.

I plugged in my iPod with the correct lead and nothing happens.

Went into the Radio settings and turned ON the Aux setting and still nothing happens.

Any ideas??

Have you pressed play on the iPod :giggle: :giggle:

Yes. Thanks :dull:

All it does is play it through the little speaker on the iPod

are you sure you have pressed the cable in firmly at both ends?

If its just playing through the ipod speaker then I would have thought its not connected correctly

Its firmly connected at both ends...its got me puzzled

Unless the connector does not support this iPod next gen

is the ipod end of the cable not modified to allow the jack to go further into the ipod.

I mean it has smaller shoulder so it doesnt stop when the plastic meets the top of the ipod?

That is where the problem is.

If the iPod is using it;s internal speaker it is not recognising that anything is connected to the headphone socket. You either have the wrong cable (mono maybe?) or it's not connecting properly.

If the iPod is not recognising the connection the Bolero will not either which is why nothing shows on the Aux connection on the screen.

You could be right.

Ive ordered a Jack to Jack lead from eBay instead

That should work

Got a new lead from eBay and it works fine
