Hidden glove box compartment

Featured Replies

... and the fuses are hidden behind the end trim on the right hand side - but what's behind the one on the left hand side? (I went out to have a look but can't get in that door at the moment without moving the car...)

It's just a cover and holds the glove box on. Suppose you could probably hide some bits in there.

Anyone missing the secret glove box compartment like I was here's how to get it quite cheaply with parts from a Skoda dealer.

First you need the partition. There are two parts listed. One does not specify a colour 6Y0857725 and the other is Satin Black which as my glove box is black I bought and it matches well part number 6Y0857725 B41. Then you need the two pins that are either end, again no specified colour: 6Y0857169 and satin black: 6Y0857169 01C, remember you need to order a quantity of two of these parts. Installing is quite self explanatory, but basically you remove glove box, put this inside, and push the pins from the outside of the glove box inwards to hold the lid.

I had to move the car to pump up the bike's tyres so took the panel off - it comes off easier than the fuse cover though I wouldn't say it "holds the glovebox on" - reveals a small space you could hide things in...

Strangely the garage that we get both our Fabia serviced done does not know about this secret compartment and I have to remove it for them every time, for them to get it stamped.

I've just re-read this thread and to answer Kablam's question about demisting pads. This is what I was on about.

As mentioned it is just the right size to fit in the compartment under the steering wheel.
