Fuel leak?

Never thought of that.... I will have a look tomorrow....any idea wat the MPG should be around on fabia 1.2HTP........

Around town I think at worst 30mpg? I would expect around 40mpg on a fair run at 60mph.

FIVE MPG? That's like 50 miles from a full tank of fuel! :o That would be screaming "I HAVE A PROBLEM!" to me.

I filled up around £45 pound worth of fuel not in one go £20 + £10 + £15 @110p...... and I ran 310 miles and empty tank.......

i don't understand where you are getting 5mpg from, the figures you give point to about 30mpg

I filled up around £45 pound worth of fuel not in one go £20 + £10 + £15 @110p...... and I ran 310 miles and empty tank.......

That means you got 34.44 MPG £45 @ 110p per litre is 40.9 litres = 9 gallons exactly. 310/9 = 34.44 MPG

ooohhhhh what i meant to say was i was only getting 5 miles to the liter..not 5MPG.....sorryyy........

but on a 1.2 I thought i will get atleast 10 Miles to the litre

I get around 8-9miles to the litre on my 1.8 civic VTIS.....

That's a whole lot of different! LOL

Tyre pressure?

Driving style..........? You can drive a car with a small engine really hard to get an "acceptable" level of performance and then drive the larger engined car more gently to get the same performance and better economy despite the larger engine if you get my drift.

hhmmm tht does make a whole lot of sence.....i will check my MPG again on a light foot and c what happens....

my engine light was on abt three weeks ago....it was on for about 3 weeks and then went off....

My 1.2 recently started getting poorer mpg, down to an average of mid thirties to the gallon, had new new air filter, fuel filter and plugs, mpg now back as it should be, averaging high fifties on a run, best mpg since new filters is 64.3 on a forty mile run of mixed A and B roads.
