The VRS average MPG contest *pics required*

That is bloody impressive especially on a stage 2 remap and a 2.5" turbo back exhaust!

Mine is standard, no mods, I have had 42mpg out of it on a trip up to Lincolnshire and back. This was driving at 70 though and going up to 80 occasionally to overtake so could probably have got a bit more out of it if I'd tried. Next time I do a long m/way journey I'll get a picture

That's quite bad, only 42mpg on a run with speeds of 70-80?

I get more than that when i'm driving 'briskly' :)

Sit at about 75-80 I can get 50mpg all day long... no modes here either!

His is a Octavia, so a 1.8T - in context thats pretty good!

oops :D

Why do pictures when you can do video... Linking to an older thread, and my MK 1 Octy VRS after a long run....

Miles to a full tank

I wasn't in any rush as i was driving down to a hotel the night before Castle Combe day.I may try to beat it this year.

Steady 80 will give 40mpg.

Remap gives slightly better performance than standard map

No Pic's I'm afraid.

Most I saw out of My octavia VRS was 46.2 on the drive from Watford back Home approx 55 Miles when I bought it, had to go steady (didn't go over 70) as Ex. Mrs. was following.

Just picked up Fabia VRS today, on 42 Mile journey home clocked 60.6 MPG, had to go slow, didn't go over 65 as the old man gave me a lift to pick it up and didn't know the way home.

Was well impressed with both figures, to be honest next best I got in the Octy was 41, we will see how the Fabia performs.

Don't think I ever got less than 29.4 out of a tankfull on the Octy, even after the remap, which was spirited driving (not silly hard, not my style).

If I average between 40 and 45 out of the Fabia I will be happy, should save me abvout £150 a month on fuel,

Here's mine on mode 2...

Not too bad really, its just a standard Fabia vRS :giggle::thumbup:

64 is the best for me on a trip to Newcastle. At the mo I am getting around 50 going to work, 19 miles on A roads and lots of stopping in Reading :( otherwise it would be md 50s

OK so it's not a vrs... but I thought you'd like something to compare against

Over the last two tanks of petrol my 1.4 16v reports:

39.0 average mpg.

35 hours driving time.

785 miles travelled.

22.4 mph average speed.

That's about 7 weeks of commuting 10 miles each way, mixed motorway & jams.

According to my dad, on Monday he got 74.9 mpg after one journey in my vRS. This is the best I've ever seen in mine. I've had previously 67 mpg in one journey. I have now told him that if he ever gets something similar to take a picture with his phone (when stopped, of course) to prove it.
