One Very Happy New vRS Owner *WITH PICS*

Featured Replies

Hi boys and girls!

Thought I'd pop in to say hello as I'm sure I'll be calling on a few of yuo in due course for help and advice.

I've just bought my very first a) Skoda, B) German(!) car, and c) turbo! I'm now the proud owner of a black Mk1 Octavia vRS which will be getting the "full treatment"

I've owned quite a few "hot" hatches in my time, coming from a pretty much brand new saxo vtr back in 1999, moving onto the likes of Escort RS2000 4x4, Saxo VTS, Vauxhall VX220, and am currently building a saxo track/drag strip weapon with a Honda Civic B16b (type R) engine as my show and track toy. I'm staff on www.saxperience.com as well as Regional Meet Official for the Yorkshire region and hoping to fit into this site just as easily.

Once I've given the car it's first clean and detail at the weekend I'll get some pics up.

Plans? Well I'd quite like to see 260-280bhp from the 20vT over the next 6 months, just before it is driven to the Nurburgring in September.

Cheers matey. Not overly fussed about blanking out plates. At the end of the day they are seen by hundreds of motorists each day, and in not up to anything illegal myself!

Besides, when I get the v5 back my private plates will be going on :p

Welcome aboard pal. Plenty of us around the west yorkshire area. I'm not far from you at all if you're wakefield/dewsbury way.

260 to 280 bhp from a Mk1 Octy vRS is not a cheap figure to get, your looking to a KO4 with all the work that comes with it, fmic, cai, turbo back exhaust with sports cat, etc, etc, but before that your looking at new uprated brakes and suspension, arb's etc.

Hope you have a deep pocket and plenty of spare cash.

I know it won't be cheap, but it'll certainly be worth it.

Starting plans for the engine are: Forge FMIC, turbo back Milltek system, turbo (unsure at the mo), new manifold, live map with Chipwizzards.

All that will be done after I've sorted the suspension - coilovers with hard rate springs, poly bushes all round, Whiteline ARBs etc etc and more than likely go for tried and tested Hi Spec caliper/disc combination with CL pads

Cheers!

A friend of mine from over your way has also just bought a black mk1 VRS!
