Just been to collect my 54 plate Fabia VRS.

Must say it's much nicer to drive than I remember from the test drive, so far very impressed, only done about 40 miles in it so far though.

The old man took me to pick it up so had to really drive it slow on the way back so he could follow me as he didn't know the way, so not had any chance at all to see how it goes but the ride quality seems much better than the Ibiza I test drove.

Still the MPG Computer showed 60.6 MPG for the journey so quite a bit different from my Octy VRS I just sold, though doubt I will ever drive that slowly again but it will get driven fairly steadily.

Anyway thanks to those that replied to my other thread where I asked if I was doing the right thing changing.

So far so good.

The vRS is alot more comfy than an Ibiza, used to have an FR TDI, although it weighs more.

This is so far the only picture I've got.

Didn't bother adding it earlier as its just the same as any other Silver VRS.

It's in good condition with just under 50K on the clock with Full skoda History, just got them to do the Cam belt and Water pump before I picked it up.

Not sure about a Remap, did have my Octy VRS Remapped so may consider it, just a bit nervous about the posts regarding clutches.

May get a "mild" map done but probably not for a while if at all, haven't bought it for the performance needed to cut my fuel bills a bit.

Apparently the fuel economy improves with most remaps as the torque is available earlier so the engine doesn't need to rev so hard to accellerate. I think that's why, anyway.

Get it mapped for economy then

Yep must admit I do like the Silver, blacks a nightmare to keep clean and shows chips too much.

Silver the easy option as don't get as much time to clean and polish cars as I used to, used to be silly the time I'd spend on a car.

Driven at 55/60mph in 6th i can get almost 70mpg, well 67.9 to be precised
