Performance Times

Featured Replies

Does anyone know the following performance times of a standard Fabia 1 vRS:

(all mph)

30-50 in 3rd and 4th

50-70 in 5th and 6th

30-70 thru gears

0-60

I found some figured on Autoexpress site but not sure how accurate they are:

50-70 in 6th = 8.1s

30-70 thru gears = 7.7s

0-60 = 8.1s

Thanks

Here we go!

These times never account for how quick it is going up an incline, with passengers onboard:D :D

I don't want to start a big debate arguing over what the right times are, if that's what u mean. I just wondered if anyone had any links to any sites quoting these times.

Thanks

I would suggest a good look round this site re threads on performance times. They range from believable to ridiculous but nearly always end in a punch up, sorry but it's a fact.

Fight

My (vaguely) educated guess

30-50 in 3rd and 4th - 3.5 seconds in 3rd, 5 seconds in 4th

50-70 in 5th and 6th - 7 seconds in 5th, 9 seconds in 6th

30-70 thru gears - Approx 8 seconds

0-60 - about 9 seconds

Autocar were mildly surprised to get 0-60 = 7.1secs out of their long term car... Unfortunately the on-line article has now gone but Wikipedia notes:

Official figures state 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes 9.5 seconds, but several motoring magazines and websites have measured faster times (around the 7.0-7.5 seconds range) (Autocar: 7.1 seconds,[1] Auto Express: 8.1 seconds,[2] and FastHatchbacks.com: 8.5 seconds[3]). The in gear acceleration times are 50-70 mph in 5.6 seconds, quicker than BMW's 330i which takes 6.0 seconds. 20-40 mph in 2.4 seconds is as quick as the Lotus Elise 111R. Despite this the Fabia vRS can achieve better than 5.4 L/100 km (52 mpg-imp; 44 mpg-US). If driven carefully some drivers have experienced MPG rates of 65-70 mpg over long periods. The Fabia VRS has a top speed of approximately 130 mph (210 km/h). The vRS was shown to be quicker than a similarly priced MINI Cooper around Top Gear's and Fifth Gear's test tracks.
