PUG 306 GTI specs and comments pls

Featured Replies

Just had a go with a boyracer in one... matched the octy foot for foot...but i bottled it for fear of ice..and greasy condition comming up to a bend on the dual carridge way...

it may well of been the turbo diesel there was black poof of smoke between gears out of both his exhausts... ??

so what are the spec on the GTI and woudl it be HDI ( :confused: ) specs on that too please..

Joel

Petrol 306 Gti6 was around 170 Bhp IIRC.

Typical french build quality (paper thin panels) should make it a light-ish car too..

The GTI-6 had 167 bhp and as Geoff says weighs next to fook all so has a pretty good power to weight ratio. Don't even bother trying to keep up with one round the twisties in a std RS - you'll lose.... It could've been a derver but a mapped one would have created loads of black, oily, horrible smoke that you'd need to scrape off your windscreen..... You need to get yours mapped me thinks.

doubt it would have been the HDI ot DTurbo their output is down at something like 100bhp or there abouts.

more than likely a GTi-6, 2ltr 6 speed and well sorted from the factory.

Nice motor, few mods will see 180bhp, lot of (na) power with very little weight, friend of mine had one.. bit peaky in delivery, lift off oversteer on demand.

Inferior to ZX 16v... but then I would say that :D

the only one i've ever seen with twin pipes is this one

doubt it was a six, most gti 6 owners wouldn't put twin exhausts on theres, could be a turb, though if it was modded then its anything from 90-170bhp

here is the facts and figures

car = 2.0 GTi-6

cc = 1998/4

top speed = 135

0- 60 = 8.5

MPG = 32

ins grp = 15

hope this helps mate
