Hey everyone, as we`re talking about cracked windscreens and all sorts of other annoying damage to our cars just out of interest how much would a replacment windscreen be for an octy VRS. I was travelling down the M6 yesterday and a BMW X5 went flying past and threw up a huge stone/rock and it`s caused a 7 inch crack in the windscreen. To say i was angry would be an understatement :@

All the best

Phil

approx £50 - £75 through insurance, or if u buy it yourself. the fabia is £300 approx, i had rite doo, with mine the second time! would imagine octy a little more

I can see April and May being a right old expensive time with me having to replace the windscreen have a full service including cambelt kit and waterpump plus my insurance is due early May. Why on earth does all this come at once :( . Oh well i suppose it`s worth it in the end with all the hours of endless fun i have in the octy travelling around the country

when i first got my VRS, had her insured for no more than 10 minutes, took her out, got hit by a stone that fell from the back of a tipper lorry, right in my drivers field of view. not happy!!. sorry to hear about your bad luck mate!

Yeah, the windscreen was only £50 through the insurance when I had it done. The only trouble is that I used the (well-known) company that my insurance told me to use and they totally ***** the scuttle panel and the windscreen washers which I didn't notice at the time so I had the additional cost of getting that sorted out afterwards.
