Featured Replies

Payed around the £600 mark last year for Fully comp, 90 day euro cover, Full breakdown cover both UK and Euro. all mods declared, legal. 6 points SP30 £335 fine

Renewal

£759!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! with NIG

same points similar cover BUT I have 1 more year NCB? what the hell?

Is this just a renewal thing or is everyone getting this kind of increase?

When I was with Vauxhall ins with my first car even renewals were lower than the previouse year. starting again got even more off. Ive only been with them and AF.

Don't let them do that to you, get shopping around.

I'm guessing you've only been with your insurer a year? They're crafty like that a lot of them will give you a nice price for the first year then whack it up by £100 or more the next year and hope you don't question it.

They will use the "rising cost of insurance" etc. excuse but at the end of the day I'm sure if you look around someone will do it cheaper than your last year's price.

I went with Flux this year who came up with a very good price but suspect I'll be in the same boat as you next year in which case I guess one of the others will be getting my business and Flux will be losing it!

20% increase for everyone this year

lol thats ur fault that!

Only kiddin mate.

Quite often you'll find that asking for a fresh quote online with the same details will get you a cheaper price. The insurers like to rely on inertia to get more money.

WOW,

I got one from Swinton of £14........................................................................................................00 lol well thatsall I heard and put the fonedown, that was ust fr the std car!. Never uses GO COMPARE or any othe like that as come the time they all call you! even tho they cant give you a good quote.

Im 26 and dont intend paying anything like £750 ever again unless I claim or get more points(hopes never happens or I cant drive Lorries) iirc it was £589 last year so dont wanna be paying more than that the year after with another years NCB. I just dont get it.

Mine was based on being 31 (32 this June) 10 years NCB no points etc and one non-fault accident caused by a young lass rear-ending me last June. Insuring a DIESEL standard vRS in a TW postcode. It would seem that is the problem the TW post code as it bumps the insurance up by nearly 50%! :wonder:

Really my re-mapped, really tickered with fabia was less than the Octavia by alot!

You would have loved my insurance then I paid £1100 the year I got the VRS, 27 years old with 1 years NCD, an accident in 2007 and 6 points!

This has now gone down to £650 but still a fortune when most of my mates are insuring similar cars for £400-500 :(

yea,

I have never bumped, only had points, this is my second car and Ive owned from new. I know Ill have to pay a bit due to mods and points but to say I have not had a crash or been involved in one since passing my test in 2002 I cant see why it is so much.

Oh well, should speak to Adrien F tomoz all bein well, They were really good last year and got me the best deal be 100 notes with more included in the policy.

Jesus! Only £700 on my modded VR6 and I'm 23, no points though!

Billy I'm paying £350 for mine, fully comp and protected no claims, I'm 25 too......that's with elephant from June 09 to June 10.... :giggle:

Think I paid about £320 to insure my Ibiza FR TDI last year, that was with Aviva. I'm 26 with 5 years NCB and no points. They were the most competitive I could find and the service has been pretty good too. Got £60.00 quidco off them too.

I'm paying £315 for mine with all mods below, but i am 39 with FNCD,no points and SK postcode.

ha ha lol

cheeky git. not looking forward to my renewal this year i have a feeling i might get stung with the car being written off never mind.

A tip with regard to gocompare, confused.com and simillar never put a real phone number in. Put one in that you know is dead so that you dont get the marketing calls. Once you have your good quote you can then alter the phone number on that one quote to the correct number.

All premiums are up this year due to the number of no win no fee compensation claims and also the increased number of claims caused by the bad winter weather.

it gone up because of all the silly buggers crashing on the ice how dare they lol B) :p

Mine went down by £9 emoticon-0110-tongueout.gif Same insurer for the 3 year running!emoticon-0105-wink.gif

But I did move into a different age bracketemoticon-0149-no.gif

Well my insurance rose this year to £800, 21 4 years NCD 3 points. Got them negotiating on the phone and they brought it down to 720... I was just going to change my car as I had no intensions of paying over £500 this year, after a bit of shopping around though direct line gave me fully comp cover for £495. Sorted :)

Lucky you lot for being older.

I'm 19, and pay £1500 for a vRS Fabia :(

EDIT: That's with 2years NCB, no points or crashes
