drivers seat

Featured Replies

just got new superb s model yesterday and after reading all the reviews and hearing all the compliments about space i cant believe that i cant get comfortable in the drivers seat.the seat does not adjust downwards anywhere near as much as the one in the old superb.also there is no control for seat pitch like in the old model.and most annoying is that my left leg is always resting against the hard plastic on the centre console which is really uncomfortable.also the seat seems to be miles off the floor.i know ive only just got the car and probably need more time to get comfy but am i missing an adjustment or what cause im really dissapointed and worried that i have chosen the wrong car.am i on my own with this problem?

The electric seats in the elegance adjust every which way, if you are bashing the console you are proberbly to close to the wheel. Try sliding the seat back some more and then compensate the steering wheel by adjusting its rake/reach.

Unfortunately, the seats of the car won`t always fit for everyone. That`s why it`s important to test those long and hard before you make a decision to buy. If nothing else works, there`s always RECARO, for example.... B)

Is there a tilt function on the electric seats then?

Yes you can adjust the height of the front of the seat base independantly from the rear of the base so theoretically you can adjust the tilt of the base.

Does the seats with manual adjustement go further to the steering wheel then the electric ones?

I tested electric ones, and I didn't get close enough to the steering wheel ... and I'm not small. (1.80m)

I had the same problem when I got my car a year ago. I found that to enable me to comfortably reach the pedals, I needed the lumber support moving to the lowest position and adjust the back rake, effectively shortening the seat squab. For the first few weeks I was continually changing the adjustment. Try storing a couple of positions so that you can flick from one to the other until you find the best compromise. After a few weeks I seemed fine. I reach the pedals and my leg no longer rubs on the centre console.

Can't try yet, still waiting car to be delivered. And it wont be electric, so no storing positions for me. :)

So manual and electric seats go back and forward for the exactly same length?

Dont know about the seat travel, but I am quiet short and have a 29" inside leg and have no difficulty with the pedals in my electrically propelled drivers seat. I can even move the seat closer to the pedals/wheel but this is to uncomfortable for me.

I have the same issue with my Elegance.
