No 17in Trinity wheel option in the UK :( Maybe they'll bring out a facelift Sport model with this as an option though? Kind of a junior RS.

No Amundsen satnav option as available in Europe either, although all spec levels have the nice looking Swing radio.

nothing special with the specs then, still no full size spare, although 1 trim now gets remote locking. I'd have to do a lot of miles to recoup the outlay to benefit from the slightly more fuel efficient engines (on paper anyway)

and the orange metallic has gone, no green available.

Just a few questions from reading that:-

Are daytime running lights not fitted? Though i saw it on the skoda-auto site or are they just not on the UK models?

Did i reads that ESP is now in the standard equipment across the rage?

What is the De module on the lights?

Ben

according to the skoda website main page it does have daytime lights

I like the look of the Elegance bumper!

I think the DRLs are combined with the foglights, so are standard on the Elegance.

ESP is optional across the whole range (only standard on the DSG and Scout models)

Well some of the stuff about the VRS launch says this:

Both versions boast an attractively designed front bumper and integrated fog lamps that can optionally be fitted with the Corner system or replaced with daytime running LED lamps.

which suggests you have to choose between Fog lights and DRLs on the vRS but can't have both.

Yeh i remember reading that on the vrs site. It did say std on the other models. Guess the vrs is a special case !!

chrome door handles now fitted to se and above. i want to fit some.

vRS has completely different foglights so I think that's a different matter.

i notice on page 16 the boot size is 300 litres for the hatch but with no spare wheel its 315 litres. i wonder if they've lowered the boot floor where the spare wheel would have been.

I love the new white LED displays of the climatronic unit and the radio on the Elegance. Little else to envy though over my current 3 spec. Plus I prefer the front end look of mine (especially with the fancy headlight covers that the dealer bunged in). Overall, I'm not hugely excited about the facelift.

I have to admit, the 1.2 TSi with a DSG box would tempt me... but Im skint :'(

There is no mention of the vRS. I bet that will be in a separate brochure. No mention of the 1.4 or 1.6 petrols either, just the 1.2 3cyd, 1.2 TSI and the 1.6 TDI

I noticed on the option list that a Temporary spare steel wheel / ‘Space saver’ steel wheel as a £45 extra. I guess this means you will only get moose and a compressor normally - it states Tyre repair kit (no spare wheel) on all models. Remote central locking is standard to the range, I think we thought may be an option. I don't think there is any mention of paddles for the DSG Gearbox cars.

Severely tempted to chop the MPI in for a 105bhp Elegance with a few choice options via the VAT free scheme , looks like I could save over £2000 when I factor in the VAT off the options as well. (My 'fantasy' spec at the moment , Corrida Red , White Roof , Sunset Glass , MDI Interface , Sport Suspension , 4 spoke MFSW and leather pack , ESP plus - with the no cost Elba 16" alloys). I just need to work out how much I will save via the vat free , and find out how much my old MPI would be worth as a trade in.

The 1.4 and 1.6 petrols have been replaced by the 1.2 TSI 85 and 105 BHP engines as they are cleaner. DSG paddles will be held over for the vRS , Id suspect.

Ive just noticed that there is no Rallye Green option in the brochure , is this going to be vRS only then , after all??

Looks like it...

Well, that's it then! I have been waiting for the new VW Polo with 1.2 TSI engine and DSG box but VW advise me that it will "not be available" in the UK but I can have the arthritic 1.4 with the DSG box.

Now I can buy the Fabia Elegance Estate with the 1.2 TSI engine and DSG box, AND add on a lot of goodies, for less than a top spec Polo. More room, more carrying capacity - what's not to like? Only one real grip is that I can't see a DAB radio in the options and I do enjoy listening to Radio 5. Have to keep my Pure Highway I guess. I currently have a diesel DSG Octavia L&K estate but now retired and don't need that big a car as there is rarely more than 1 or 2 people in the car.

Order it before June 30th and save the VAT off it as well (which on the model you are interested in would amount to a saving of £2098.51 off the List price , before options - which are also VAT free as well!) The car you want works out at a tad over £12500 before any cost options you might want to add.

Thanks.

I notice "Sports suspension" is an option. Am i right in thinking this is the same as the "lowered suspension" as in the pre-faclift and standard in the Greenline and later Sports, and not a significantly modified suspension?

I think so yes, it's too cheap to be anything fancier!

From the reviews I read on here though it apparantely does improve the handling without really worsening the ride and IMO it looks better too.

Isn't it only a 15mm shorter spring? It costs £95, but I don't see why it should cost any more than the standard spring.

for about £95 I'm guessing it will be using standard dampers, so can these -15mm springs be fitted to a 'standard' car?
