MPG VRS Fabia

Featured Replies

Today we went to York for a say out, Reset the trip and off we went. The car drove nice with the C.C. on, steady 70mph 90% of the way there and back, Mansfield - York - Mansfield, Computer showed 63.4 mpg. Anyone else match or better this,

Yup, I've had the trip show 74MPG average on B road runs, but it's a lying toad and not to be trusted  Only accurate way is to do brim to brim tank fill over a few tanks of diesel.

Not bad at all!

Hope you had a nice day out in York too?!

This Weekend I drove down to Folkstone (for Rallycross at Lydden Hill) and averaged 49 mpg driving down (steady 80). On Tuesday I filled back up and drove home (dad driving first half) and got 57.8 mpg, mostly at a GPS 70mph, although there was several sections of Average Sped cameras on A1, A14, M11 and M25. So Folkstone to Home (approx 300 miles) only cost me £30 in Diesel.

True. However, it's a bit like talking about the weather. It's been done a million times before, but in a comforting way gives us something to say when there's not much else to do.

I also like the "Which tyres?" and the "Which remap?" threads. They're like a warm blanket of banality that all of us like to wrap ourselves up in from time to time. I myself contribute to these discussions as it makes me feel slightly useful in an otherwise bizarre and out of control world. :D
