Hi All,

New yeti owner here and have been reading through this post with interest! The AUX port works well enough but I would prefer to be able to select tracks on the iPod from the headunit.

Does anyone have a definitive and up-to-date list of parts need to retrofit the MDI "option" into the Yeti?

So far I have the MDI cable itself - part number 5N0035342C

Kufatec Cable - need a link to this please

Is there anything else needed?

Thanks

Jeff

Back home now1

This is the important lead that connects from the back of the Bolero > MDI unit http://www.kufatec.d...-Harness--.html Takes about a week to arrive. No-one in the UK seems to stock?

You'll also need the lead from the MDI to the lead for the iPod/USB/3.5mm jack/mini USB - these are all available on Ebay for about £15

HTH?

Can you tell me what I need to spec with my order (170 Elegance) to get this facility? The brochure is a little confusing . . .

Hi, great post very helpful. Only had my Yeti one week and been looking at the Gateway 100 but reading all your posts it's looks like the wrong way to go. Only have one question will the MDI conversion work on my Swing radio?

Once again thanks for all your posts.

This looks like a thing for us (Swing-owners):

Thanks for the link, Yetigreenline2!

So I could just get this kit and not need to get any other parts?

Not sure, to be honest.

Anyone?!? "Swing"-owners?!? :bandit: (There are not many probably, but still), have anyone done it ("Swing" + MDI retrofit) ?!?

Your Skoda dealer will probably be unable to do it as their diagnostic computer is less versatile than the full VCDS/VAG.com software. Mine was done in minutes by a local (St Albans) independent VW specialist. It is a mere couple of clicks on a laptop.

Hi JCP,

Thanks for the advice took my local dealer only minutes to enable the MDI at a cost of 17 euros. All working fine now I just have to finish the installation, going to fit i pod/phone holder in the jumbo box. Thanks to all who posted on this topic.

Have fitted the MDI unit, or more correctly, am trying to fit it. Finding somewhere to put 180 cm of loom took some working out, not that much space behind the radio. If only I could work out how to get the cable to the centre armrest area. I have connected it all up to my ipod but how do I get it to work? The Bolero handbook says that on Setup setup media there is a function key PD, I haven't got one of those. Do I need a quick trip to the local dealer to enable it?
