New CR VRS Collected Yesterday!

Featured Replies

Finally the day came to head on down to Surrey to collect my car!

It is:

2.0TDI CR DSG

Corrida Red

Xenons

Rear PDC

Heated Seats

Bluetooth

Auto Lights

Spare Wheel

63 miles in a pole in a lorry drifts into hard shoulder on M40 and flicks up a nice big stone right into the middle of the bonnet chipping and putting a slight dent in it - Cheers for that and paying attention on our roads :punch:

Anyway - this morning was off to GTI Spring Festival bright and early - loving the car and getting 51mpg already! There is only 300 odd miles on the clock!

Time for some pics! (only had time to polish it today when i got back so no wax or sealent on it yet!)

After seeing the shark fin aerial I was expecting to see a Columbus fitted!

Have SUK decided to fit all new Octavias with this aerial now?

I posted that pic as there was another thread somewhere about the aerial - its because it has bluetooth! It is brilliant too - all the way back from London with full signal - Big test this morning going to Telford as the signal was always terrible down there on my other handsfree which just used the phone aerial.

You need to update your profile still showing as bora .

JRW, I guess you picked yours up from Marlborough. Reason I know is my reg is only one letter off. I picked mine's up on Friday.

Ha yes! What a let down they are - sign this - pay this - here are your keys! They wanted the money before i'd even seen the car!

Lets see the pics of yours then!

So it's a myth then that people don't buy a vRS with DSG....looks great. I'll swap you for mine.

Yeah - loving the DSG - will take some getting used to - Went for the clutch saturday night and nearly went through the windscreen! It has a few quirks, but it is just getting used to it

I bet DSG would be awesome on a vRS...

I've decided to go back to Manual after owning my current car (and done 31,000 on it, so I've had plenty of experience)

Can I suggest Saville's next time ?

I find them to be a really good dealer....or were they miles away on price ?

Looks lovely mate - really nice in red. I had mine about a week and was transporting some copper tube on the roof rack. Went to another shop, opened boot...............end of copper tube dug a 2" gouge in the top of the bootlid under the spoiler. I actually did cry so I have a lot of sympathy!

Enjoy the car!

Totally - I ordered mine with DSG and picked it up Tuesday.

It's a great gearbox and as I'm used to the Automated Manual concept from the smart it takes no time at all to get used to.

Tell it what you want when you know best or leave it alone. Or shove it in manual. Best of 3 worlds! And paddle shift :)

Where are they? I just went to DTD - im in Wolverhampton btw. Bonnet and spoiler looks a right mess in direct sun where they have 'machine polished' it... They polished a scratch on the bonnet I pointed out but dont know about the spoiler. They are plastered in swirls. Also the cloth turns red when i tried to polish the spoiler but it doesn't look like its been sprayed. Not very happy about that but i'm just waiting for a detailer friend to come back to me to see if i can pop round and get it properly machine polished.

OOOOHHHHH NO No No ,The worst thing is you can scream at someone else if they have done it when you do something like that yourself your head wants to implode!!:@

Just noticed the tyres are continentals. Are they not coming with the the Dunlops anymore? :)

I was wandering how long it would take someone to notice! I'm releived after seeing the Dunlop thread about wear!

Tell me about it. I shut the boot, got back in the car and sobbed emoticon-0106-crying.gif .

I'm a pretty tough guy and it wasn't nice to witness.......niether was the admission to the missus (it's actually registered to her).

Every now and then you do something that makes you look really really stupid. This was one of those times.

Personally I'd have had to find the lorry driver and see if he could hold up his trailer...........with his teeth emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

JRW - there is nothing like a well waxed red car. Get it clayed and detailed and get some proper wax on it ASAP!!

Jealous!

Got a garage full of new detailing stuff! Just want to get corrected before I go all out on the wax and sealent!

Some of us bought them ages ago

I see that your car is on Continental tyres. have you changed them or have they started supplying the vRS on these rather than the dunlops everyone seems to be moanign about

Thats what they came with!

Awwwright Mate !

They are:

Savilles Garage, Mustow Green, Kidderminster, DY10 4LG. (Patrick or Alan on Sales, Mark on Service)

A bit late now you have a brand spanker I know ! but they are a dealer that gives you good old fashioned service.

I have bought the last 2 vRS's from them. So maybe worth a look next time ?

Is it just

DTD - Dunlops

Others - Continental

The cars I have seen at my dealer are Continental so I'm hoping mine will be the same.
