Clutch options

Featured Replies

Been searching for the last hour or som and not really got the info I want.

Basically, I'm after definitive options I can go for, clutch wise, stating prices too, including OEM.

I'm only running a P Torque map & panel filter, but the torque @ 305lbft has started making the clutch slip (I'm on 80k miles)

So, any help would be truly appreciated :)

Ill add my 5 cents worth. I picked up my first fabia 3 weeks ago now, and am wanting a remap, but will wait untill i have anough cash to sort the clutch out too. My clutch is currently on 70000 and is a OEM one.

Im after a stage1 remap like yourself. Ive had 3 quote so far, both from JKM services, in portsmouth.

Standard SACHs clutch (they claim it will handle the torque of a stage one remap), to existing DMF, new slave cylinder, labour and VAT is £458.32

If i need a new DMF, the a SACHs clutch kit (including the above) comes to £767.00

And finanlly SACHs organic clutch kit with new dual mass flywheel £1213.78

All including labour and VAT.

HAs anyone on here had a standard sachs clutch. Would this be advised, or would it be best to go for the organic. I have no intention of going further than a remap by the way!

Thanks for that. Is the OEM clutch from Skoda the asme price as from the vw spares site?

Nope Skoda will relieve you about double that for the same clutch and flywheel. The only difference is the writing on the box.

fair play, looks like i'll be ordering myself one of them then! got a mate who'll fit it for £100 too, so should save a couple pennies compared to going to a dealer

Anyone got part numbers and prices for the Sachs organic option? Will look at getting another one of these, as it handled stage-1 hybrid power last time without problem, whilst still keeping a stock DMF for everyday ease

Gonna get that one from vw spares.

It doesn't come with a new clutch release bearing...so...where can I get one from?

OEM DMF alone is twice the price of the full VW Spares kit. Buy the kit and flog the clutch.
