Cheapo FMIC test fitting

Featured Replies

The plan was to remove the standard SMIC, fit the FMIC and mark up the pipe that needs to be modified.

I also found that the kit had two 2.5-3"joiners that were obviously supplied for a different core to the one I have. Maybe that one had brackets supplied too :p

Bumper off. How much muck in the SMIC? :o

Had to, er, modify the bumper a bit. I cut a bit more out to fix that bend and enable the grille to go back in.

Back in one piece with FMIC in place but SMIC re-connected as standard

Nice job  do you have any pics of the engine bay with the pipe going from the turbo?

Looks like a good peice of kit  and a lot less cutting required compared to the pro alloy fmic I just fitted.

PS looking at the pic of your garage wall........is your garage a cave ???? :p

Not yet. I didn't fully connect that end, just put the pipes loosely in place to check they look about right. Will take many pics when I fit it properly - hopefully next weekend if I can get that pipe done in time.

Yeah kinda :) It's under the house and the garage was dug out of the clay.

only overpriced if you silly enough to buy from awesome and plkaces like that lol

otherwise they can be had cheap ;)

We discount Forge`s products by 10% any more than that , let us know and they can loose the Forge retailer

That is not fun to be fair

So we do as we are told , that is it

is this the FMIC that has the right hand pipe going over the top of the engine?

I quite like those DRL's by the way, not as crap as ones I have seen

After all your effort with my exhaust I think I owe you one Sarah.

I shall kick Clive square in the nuts the next time I see him

Haha! Forge FMICs are expensive everywhere!

Yes , they are

But it is the one that everyone wants , cheap too

Or the one everyone wants to copy :wonder: I wonder why?????

Sarah

It's a radiator... for air... with some pipes and silicone tubing. Certainly not worth the extortionate amount that Forge charge for them!

And the numerous DIY builds on this forum alone prove that the extra money isn't worth it!
