Just covered my Fabia VRS Chrome grill surround in Carbon film.

Looks nice IMO

Here its is in the grill

Now on the car

I prefer it to chrome as it looks more "RS " and less Ghia/ GLS / GLX.

I hate the shiney chav glossy carbon as it lloks like its trying too hard, but this dull black carbon film looks almost factory when viewed in in the flesh - so to speak.

QUESTION: Should I put the badge back on ?

Any other opinions welcome too

they both look really good mate in my opinion! Im after a black grill but dont know where to get one! Any ideas as i might go carbon if i cant find one!

I did my grille a few weeks ago now and initially I put the Chrome badge back on but it didn't look right so o put the black plastic Badge that's on the engine cover on my grille. The standard one just looked too shiny. I got the idea from a gr666 on here.

The grille and surround look great although when I did my surround I didn't have enough left for the ashtray lid!

Not that hard really....

You have to have patience and you have to think ahead when cutting the vinyl to the right shape, but you get lots of go's at getting it right... you can even rip it off and start again with no ill effects. Put Di-NOC into youtube and see for yourself

I Take it that you must warm it up to get it to go around the curved bits easily without creasing .. With a hair dryer Etc ??

Yep use a hair dryer not a hot air gun otherwise you will burn your hands..... said by the man with burnt hands !!!!

However I dont have the patience for that (I really dont :( ) I'll just have to stick to plain black.

As for black grill, I've found an ebay seller who does buy 2 get one free (total ~£25 for 3 sheets). Better than halfords slightly.. but shall wait until I have time to take bumper off and cut the plate thing (aswell as LCR splitter). If anyone has guide for the cut around it would be GREAT! because I have a feeling my cut will be really messy....

Just taken off my Engine cover badge and am polishing up !!!... The New badge I have ordered with go on the Engine cover and the Engine cover one is going on my Carbon-look grill !!!

Tough and purposeful with less bling but I am still proud that its a Skoda tbh !

i have my mirrors done with this stuff it is fantastic people actually think its real carbon it has texture to it its mint, i was going to do my bonnet and roof but funds are on a all time low lol damn recesion .........or thats right it was just gordon brown shafting me again

Hmmm... As I walked from my garage path the Fabia sitting on the Path I thought this exact same thing ! ... Then I thought. This may not be easy and would take a really long time and alot of patience !!! The curves on the door handles and the locks would be really difficult I think. The door mirrors could be good to do though. probably done on the car would be best. The only bit I am not sure of it where they join to the car. I am sure its doable and easier than the door handles.

I was also thinking that the inner chrome door handles may be good in carbon as long as the rear of the handle was done properly, otherwise it would feel cack every time you opened the door.
