"Devil Eyes" for Octy2

Featured Replies

Remember a while back a company was looking at interest in "Devil Eyes" for the Octy2?

Well I was just clearing out some bookmarks and I find they are now actually selling them:

I know some people liked the look of them.

The only Issue that I can see is that these are almost certainly going to be set for LHD vehicles, so the beam will be aimed incorrectly.

I think only their mk1 devil eyes are not uk legal, however the rest might be ok? there really quick at replying to people though! Just bought myself some vRS pedals off there today. dispatched within the same hour!

OK, fair enough :giggle: To be honest, liking them or not, every time I see an Audi in my rear view with the 'devil eye' LEDs on in bright sunny days like this, I can't help thinking 'what a d**k!'. It may be a case of, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

Nooooo! What did I just say??? :o

Slightly off topic (sorry) how much was p+p from them?

And the DRLs on other cars? Are we all d**ks too as we drive around in our vRS' with a strip of bright LEDs on just above the fog lights?

Let's face it, DRLs become a legal requirement on new cars from next year so I suspect you'll be seeing a lot more d**ks on the road :)

My DRLs lasted 2 days before I got fed up feeling like a d**k being all blinged up in bright sunshine, and off they went ! but then I am an old git !! :'(

Yeah, hands up, that was a bit unfair when there is no option available to switch off (unlike export versions of many European cars, I think); so I take it back. I guess it is more of a 'psychological overlap' on my part from those running daytime foglights - I won't be budged on that one though :smirk:

Where is the announcement on DRL's being a legal requirement on cars from next year?

It's true apparently. Brussels says so. This is taken from the AA website:

Legal Directive

In September 2008 the European Commission adopted a proposal for a Directive that will introduce dedicated daytime running light (DRL) on all new types of passenger cars and small delivery vans from February 2011 onwards. Trucks and buses will follow from August 2012 onwards.

There will be no requirement to retro-fit daytime running lights to existing cars and no Europe-wide requirement for drivers of cars without dedicated daytime running lights to drive with headlights on during the day.

Where fitted, dedicated daytime running lights will switch on automatically when the engine is started.

I am not sure where the Directive is at in terms of becoming fixed in UK law.

I actually really like them, gives the car a more agressive look.

As this one with Devil eye xenon replacements.

Dont much like the chrome bling, but on a black car they look nice.

Might have to go for some of these when wheels are paid for.

- street legal in whole Europe !!

Does that include the UK then?

Guess Im a d**k then! :giggle:

Christ that looks crap

I wonder if anyone who works at superskoda or (milotec for that matter) has any concept at all of style and good taste?

maybe if ALL the chrome was dropped it would look ok kinda sorta maybe. at the moment it just looks like a nasty blinged out parody of a skoda.

A bit off topic but, what about these rear smoked/clear lights?

I remember some all clear lights being on here before, just wondered if anyone thought these were better

stevegr11.jpg

If they were legal, maybe. Although I also like the chinese Octavias LED lights

I like those................I'd like them even more a) if they are definitely legal, and B) if they did some for the estate
